Well, Handmade Oxford... what a weekend ☀️

We're finally back home, unpacking the van, catching our breath, and reflecting on what was a truly wonderful few days. 🚚🌳

Firstly, thank you to every single person who stopped by our stand. Whether you've been following us for years and made a point of coming to find us, or whether you discovered us for the very first time this weekend, it was such a joy to meet you all!

We were especially touched by the number of people who asked after us following the break-in. The kindness and support we've received over the last few weeks has been overwhelming, and seeing so many members of our growing Megan Crook Textiles community in person was a real reminder of how lucky we are 💕

The feedback on our work was incredible. Sometimes when you're deep in the day-to-day of running a small business, you forget to step back and see what you've actually created. Events like this give us that opportunity. Of course, shows are an important part of our livelihood - they're the bread and butter that keep the wheels turning - but they're also something much more than that. They're a chance to connect, to share stories, and to be reminded that the things we make bring genuine joy to people.

On a personal note, this was a huge show to set up entirely on my own. I'll admit, the pre-set up nerves were very real. There were definitely moments of overwhelm while loading, driving, building, styling and generally trying to be twelve people at once. But once it was all together and the doors opened, I felt an enormous sense of pride. Sometimes you surprise yourself with what you're capable of. ✨🙏🏼

And honestly? A few days living out of a van with a camp bed and a tiny stove was pretty wonderful too. There's something incredibly grounding about stripping life back to the basics for a little while. Fresh air, beautiful surroundings, and a chance to disconnect from the usual chaos. 🏕️

A huge thank you to for having us for the first time this year. It is such a beautifully curated event, we're already looking forward to next year!

Tired feet, full hearts, and a van full of empty hangers... just how we like it! ✨

🧵✨ PATCHWORK WEEK ✨🧵

Ever wondered how our patchwork magic comes to life? 👀

Spoiler alert: it’s not quite as simple as sewing a few squares together...

Every patchwork piece starts life as a mountain of carefully saved fabric scraps. From velvet and corduroy to sequins, faux fur and everything in between, we rescue every usable offcut and give it the chance to become something fabulous. 🌈

Then comes the sorting, measuring, cutting, arranging, rearranging, second-guessing, rearranging again... 😅🧩

Before finally sewing hundreds of individual patches together to create our one-of-a-kind patchwork fabric rolls.

And that’s all before we even start making a garment. 🤯

Is it the quickest way to make clothes? Absolutely not.

Is it one of the most labour-intensive things we do? Definitely.

Would we have it any other way? Not a chance! 🧡

Because every finished piece means less waste, more creativity, and another completely unique garment heading out into the world. ✨

Because we’re all for making less of an impact on the environment...

Just not less of an impact when you walk into a room. 😏✨🌈
