My name is Maila, and I have been sewing all my life. I do enjoy designing ,and making the ideas come to life. My little Etsy shop at the moment offers very simple designs. Mostly inspired by Nordic folklore and it's summer nights and sauna. Also something very very simplified from the style of a lavish French queen who is undeservedly accused for suggesting people to eat cake if they don't have bread.
I am very much in love with history, and currently working on designs that are inspired from 18'th century mostly. To modernise them to the point of being able to wear as every day garments.
It is a bit slow process as I'm also a mother of three boys but my main goal is to bring those garments to the wider public.
Most certainly it is a challenging project as the styles were absolutely crazy and over done with anything fabric related but figuring out the ways to redo them for todays age is fun.
As I like to learn new things I recently purchased a camera to learn the art of photography . As you will see from my photographs ,I'm telling the truth lol. But I like the challenge of doing it all by myself from zero and growing while doing it.
I have my vision about my designs now and for the upcoming ones , how they can be presented to you and the story of women throughout times, loving beauty, appreciating quality and caring about well handmade garments.
Little women- cause i'm mainly focused on small and petite but do other sizes as well.
Just for the note, my low key ocd does make me really pay extra attention to every piece I make. I am willing to spend extra time on anything just to make it look absolutely right.
