Joanne Eddon Textiles After 37 years of painting silk, I am now enjoying being creative with other wonderful fabrics. Hope you have fun looking at my designs and products!

In my studio shop at Cedar Farm, you will find my bespoke lamps and shades, vintage kimono silk products and hopefully share my joy of colour and textiles. I have specialised in an unusual monoprint method of hand painting which I experimented with at college and have spent over 25 years developing. Each piece is painted individually but, unlike other methods of hand painting, this technique allow

s me the freedom to achieve a paint-brush mark. This, I think, typifies all of my designs which are controlled yet painterly and, I hope, retain the joy and spontaneity I feel when I am painting them. Source material for designs varies tremendously from the work of artists such as Hundertwasser, Klimt and Klee to celtic patterning and illuminated manuscripts or simply my garden. Over the years I have produced special designs for bodies such as The National Trust, Yorkshire Dales National Park, Lady Lever Art Gallery and The Walker Art Gallery. I am a member of Lancashire Makers a community Interest group with 2 shops, one in Churchtown and the other in Ormskirk . My studio is open to the public, at Cedar Farm in Mawdesley, Lancashire L40 3SY were toucan also see the other textiles I produce and the vintage kimono I import.

Working from her studio in the art@cedarfarm barn, Joanne specialises in the creative reuse of antique and vintage Japanese kimono silks, transforming them into unique and elegant homewares and artworks. Think handcrafted lampshades, sketchbooks, notebooks, and framed panels of hand-painted silk.

Joanne’s passion doesn’t stop at Japanese silk. Her studio is also a haven for lovers of Morris & Co, Liberty, Sanderson, and other iconic fabrics, all lovingly reimagined into one-of-a-kind creations.
