The outside mess doesn't look as bad as it did .. which is very pleasing, although we're still pretty hard to spot if you don't know we're here!

Here you go - something a little more exciting than roadworks! 😉

Just recently I was contacted by a British Historian who just happens to be in the middle of writing about the "Journey East" of the 60's generation for a book for Penguin. ☺️

He actually writes about my talented parents, Sam and June Suliman and their days in Jaipur, India.

He wanted more information on their work and time spent there ... and of course I was only too happy to help. And boy, do we have a lot of history to share with him!

This is just the smallest sample of things we've uncovered. We've found invitations from the Maharajah to a glitzy party, correspondance from the Indian Govt. about setting up work there (my parents were the first people to do it you know??), samples of my dad's wood block designs, press photos, photo's of my mummy for the Daily Mail, and some actual garments from those days ..

It really is so fascinating - if you want to know more, please ask. If you want to see more, some of it will be available to view in the shop from next week.

A woeful start to the day 😞 not only is it dull and wet ... but SSEN have taken up loads more space then they said 🙄 and I now find out it might take up to 10 days to backfill the hole they're making. FFS???

Why is that utility companies can behave like this?? It's just appalling 😭 I'll be back later with some better news, after I'm over the shock! ###

Okey Dokey ... Before the fun of September starts ....

Remember when I gave you the news about SSE having to replace the electrical cables outside the shop? They did say it was for a day, but turns out it will be at least 3 days!!!
Access should be maintained at all times! - Let's see?
Starting on Wednesday when they dig the hole, Thursday when they do the actual work, with NO power between 9am and 2pm, and finally Friday when they fill the hole. Very bloody annoying! 😕

I'm about to spend a lot of money this weekend - so if ever I needed a busy week it's now ... Grrrrr!!!

In another scary bit of info, I think Network Rail will be closing the southern walkway to do some work - meaning my footfall will be compromised and cut in half again. Bastards!
Apparently it's only going to be for a week, like that makes it better 😠😠

But there are also some exciting things in the offing ... Like getting my new signage and branding sorted for when Botley Road does re-open. So ready for this. What do you think of my mock-up?

And something super exciting which I will tell you all about tomorrow. 🍂🍁🎋
