BIG SHOUT-OUT TO ALL YOU SUPER-FAB PEOPLE! 💕✨
What an absolutely fabulous day at Shepton Flea Market yesterday! Lots of sales, lots of lovely people, the sun was shining ☀️ and we even got to see this pretty lady as well. 💕
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came over, had a rummage, bought something, stopped for a chat or simply said hello. You made our day. ❤️
And on another note… a very big stick-my-tongue-out 😛 to the horrible man who stood there shouting at me because I wouldn’t sell him a £40 mirror for a tenner.
Honey, by that point, I wouldn’t have sold it to you if you’d offered me the full £40. 😂
People sometimes forget what goes into being a dealer. We get up at 4 o’clock in the morning, sometimes we sleep in the van, we load, unload, lug furniture around and regularly work 16-hour days.
Yes, we absolutely LOVE what we do — otherwise we wouldn’t do it — but we work bloody hard at it.
Haggling? Absolutely. It’s part of the fun.
Making an cheeky offer? Give it a go!
But shouting at someone because they won’t accept your offer and throwing your toys out of the pram? Not okay.
Dealers are people too. Our stock costs us money, our pitches cost money, our vans cost money and our time has value.
So after a brilliant day, that’s my little Monday-morning message:
Support your independent traders. Have a haggle. Have a laugh. And above all… BE KIND. ❤️
