What a difference a year makes

A year ago today I left the Freeman Hospital following my liver transplant and it’s fair to say I’ve never looked back 🩷💜

Forever grateful to my selfless donor and their family for giving me my life back , such a precious priceless gift 🩷💜

One year ago tonight at 6.59pm I received my sixth call from the transplant team at the Freeman Hospital and asked to make my way there asap (in fact I hadn’t quite got home from the clinic appointment that afternoon)

One year ago today my selfless donor and their loved ones made an amazing decision to help a stranger and left behind a beautiful legacy of life

Today absolutely belongs to my donor their loved ones and their memory, they are never far from my thoughts I am truly grateful for the second chance that their gift afforded me 🩷

As many of you know I’m passionate on us all being our own advocates where our health is concerned
Today I am in city centre with the amazing who have been a fantastic support to me to speak to others about their liver health
They are offering advice and a free liver scan to those who are interested

Nobody ever wants to hear the words ‘you need a liver transplant’ and everything that goes with that…
However there are some diamonds in the rough in that journey. I’ve known a number of years now through online support groups and group chats and we finally got to meet yesterday and have a lovely relaxed lunch with our other halves 🩷
I’m now at 11 months post transplant and Abby is at 5 months, proof that organ donation does work and how important it is to share your wishes 🩷 please share yours today with and your loved ones 🩷

Big shout out to .carlisle for keeping their tower pink this week to support and remember
