Last year I was delighted to participate in a programme by charity Founders4Schools to highlight Female entrepreneurship to Scottish secondary school pupils.

The more that people are aware of female led business, the more it inspires young women and girls to realise that they too can build their dreams!

March - a funny time of year!

It can still be very cold, especially early and late in the day. But there are glimpses of warmer days ahead. The sunsets and sunrises can be spectacular. I saw one last night. I really wish I could have taken a photo, but I was driving at the time. It was beautiful - a clear blue sky with rose pink wisps of clouds, and peaking from behind, a huge white, full moon. Moments like that make you still for a second. Forgetting the awful things happening in the world and giving you hope.

Surround yourself by the people you love and the things that bring you joy. We need more moments in our lives. For me, colour is a huge part of this. It effects our mood in so many ways. I've already seen a shift in how I design. I've retreated to my happy colours!

Is that the first signs of Spring I see?

After weeks of no sun in the North East of Scotland (we even made the Australian news because of it!!), finally the signs of Spring are starting to appear. We're normally about 4 weeks behind the south of England when it comes to daffodils, but the blue skies and glorious sunrises are back.

We've just put all the ongoing colours of our Aviemore fair isle jumper back on the website after making more of this popular style. It includes our Duck Egg (shown in image) and the Yellow which both make popular birthday or mother's day gifts, being in such cheerful colours which work at any time of year.

Happy "B" Day to us!

12 months ago The Croft House had the amazing news that after months of rigorous scrutiny and hard work, we had been awarded B Corporation certification.

When I launched the business back in 2012, I never thought that my little idea would be part of such a movement!

We're so proud to be a member of this community of businesses who have made it their mission to do business for good, and not just profit.

I get so many emails and phone calls from customers telling me how important it is to them to buy from a business who upholds our values and is taking direct action to forge a new way of how we make and consume clothing.

We got through January! What a month! The snow started on New Years Day and didn't let up for days so week 1 literally ground to a halt. Then came the melt and the rain, and the storms. It's certainly soggy out there!

With winter still very much in effect, we've been focusing production on our chunky knits. Our sublimely soft chunky geelong lambswool Polo neck jumpers and Mens fisherman rib jumpers are now back in stock in most sizes (with the remainder almost finished).
