What we do for the people of Buchan isn't for the awards or the glory but from our hearts. All my team are volunteers as I am and we give our time willingly to help others. I'm so proud that our work gets this kind of recognition.
Thank you.

🌟 I’m delighted to announce Shona Watson as my Local Hero, who will attend the official opening of the Scottish Parliament with me this weekend!

🫶🏻 Shona is an absolute credit to the community, working tirelessly to provide for families across the north east. Her work through the Buchan Giving Tree has been truly lifesaving, and I’m so glad to be able to formally recognise her hard work.

🫂 Thank you to Shona for all that you do, I look forward to continue working with you over this term!

Each year Ted Reilly along with his darts team ‘the sands’ raise money for the giving tree. Each year we are blown away by the generosity of each of them. Apart from being such a caring man Ted & the team are so welcoming, ensuring we are invited to each event held, hosting and definitely leaving us in fits of laughs. These guys never ask for the acknowledgement but we love to give it to them!
With a lot of the volunteer’s from the shop not able to attend due to other events (take that 🙄) we invited along our colleagues from Citizens advice.

Each year we say the same thing, cannot wait for the next one!!
