🤍✨ A Moment for the dress ✨🤍

When initially discussing alterations with a bride, we always reccomend an intial fitting with follow up fittings as required so we can see exactly how to achieve that flawless finish 👰 Katie’s dress was a perfect example of that - at first what was initially thought to be a length alteration ended up being a full back seam taper too🪡🧵

Adjusting and reshaping the back with a seam taper for a perfect finish needs to include:
💫 Adjusting the lined inner basque
🌸 Aligning the bardot collar with zip, buttons & hoop closure
💍 Refitting all inner linings and petticoat

The end result? A stunning, perfectly fitting gown ready for Katie’s big day. Congratulations, Katie — you looked beautiful!💕

✨ Two dresses, two ceremonies, one beautiful bride✨

We had the absolute pleasure of working with this Sophia who celebrated her love with not one, but two unforgettable weddings – one close to home in London, and another under the sun in Cyprus! 💒✈️☀️

She chose two completely different dresses for each special day, and we were honoured to carry out the expert alterations to ensure each gown fit her like a dream. 💫

👰‍♀️ For the elegant gown worn in London:

• We shortened and straightened the hemlines
Let out the bodice under the arms for a comfortable fit
• Reshaped the waistline by detaching the front bodice from the skirt, straightening pleats, and tapering the skirt for a smooth silhouette

👰‍♀️ For the romantic lace dress worn in Cyprus:
• Lifted the shoulders and took in the bust for better support
• Shortened and straightened the hemline
• Added a bustle/pick-up to manage the train perfectly for dancing the night away!

✨ Real Bride Spotlight – Jessica ✨

We’re thrilled to finally share these stunning photos that beautiful bride Jessica kindly sent us from her big day! 💍👰

What you don’t see in these gorgeous images is the journey her dress went on before it reached the big day. Jessica came to us after another alterations company had unfortunately left her gown in a less-than-perfect state — the hem was too short with an untidy double finish, the bodice had been incorrectly darted into a separate lined skirt, and the bust and side seams needed a complete rethink.

We carefully unpicked the previous work, realigned the bodice and skirt, reshaped the bust, recut, re-hemmed, and brought the gown back to life — just in time for her to walk down the aisle looking flawless. 💫

🔍 A gentle reminder to all brides-to-be:
Always do your research when choosing who to trust with your dress. Fixing poor workmanship is often more complex than starting from scratch — and unfortunately, it can also mean paying for the same work twice.

✨👰Bridal Alterations for the beautiful Jen 👰✨

We loved working on Jen’s dress! Here’s what we did:

✨Boned bodice adjusted for a perfect fit.
✨Added side panels and appliqued to blend seamlessly.
✨Bust pads removed for a smoother shape.
✨Lengths shortened with horsehair to retain the structure
✨Added a bustle for easy wear later in the night

We also altered one of bridesmaid and flower girl dresses for a perfect fit on the day 🪡🧵

• Layers reshaped into a soft train
• Gown tapered from waist to knee for a sleeker silhouette
• Evening bustle added to train
• Custom overskirt tailored to fit, shortened, and cleverly designed with a back opening (no makeup or hair mishaps!) — with hidden poppers for a seamless look 💫
