Meet Leo, my little scribbler ❤️ He’s recently turned 3 and hasn’t shown much interest in drawing or mark-making until now.
He loved having a go at writing his name but that wasn’t the only skill he was learning here…
In fact, he was developing his hand/eye coordination, he chose/used a dominant hand to write, he was learning to maintain focus, he demonstrated persistence, we were having a back and forth conversation about what he could see on his mat (he loved telling me what the different traffic light colours mean). Actually, during the 5/10 minutes that we were doing this we covered so many aspects of the seven areas of learning!
