We’re still in process of sorting through a lot of stuff after a change in circumstances. Simon now runs the business single handedly, which means as well as doing all the buying he currently has to be on site every day (more or less) to deal with orders, admin and customers. After Xmas we will address some kind of restructuring. In the meantime we apologise if the place is untidy and a bit disorganised when you visit. Unfortunately, I am unable to help as much as I’d like as I have to look after my elderly father who can’t be left unsupervised. Life is quite the challenge right now 🫤

We have quite a few original 19th Century letterpress posters in stock in various sizes.
Take a few moments to devour this mouth wateringly delicious letterpress poster from 1846.
Consider the varying typeface - different commas, and use of grammar - I give you the semi colon…
Not to mention indentations to the rear from each individual letter ❤️ and time involved in creating layouts, oh, and the intoxicating odour from gooey printing ink. Yum.

The artistry involved throughout the process is fairly staggering when you consider the mundanity of what the final edit conveys.
In other news(ish) will def be heading to in the Scottish Boarders next time I’m passing.

Not the usual stock: we have a couple of wood burners for sale.
This is The Oakdale by ACR. 5kw multi fuel stove. Working order with new stove glass replaced by us. This model is retailing between £950 and £1,150. Can be yours for far less. I’ve included a shot from the internet to illustrate it in situ.

We have a fork lift, so able to help with loading this end.

I find it compelling viewing - the super imposition, the not quite right size ratio. The handful of females, and of course how very white it is.
