Building blocks for an aspiring gentleman.
Now no one is perfect, I want to get that out the way first. I am by no means perfect I have my share of flaws. However I have spent the last two years of my life in a customer service role which has helped me learn so much about social interaction and helped me better myself.
So today Ill be sharing my building blocks on how to be a gentleman in today's day and age. Obviously this page is run by a man so would be aimed at a man however everyone can take on board what is said here today.
1. Be Honest
This is pretty obvious but don't lie, because chances are you'll get caught out sooner or later and that's a whole world of hurt. Be honest in what you say and how you act, don't be somone you are not. Don't bend to peer pressure don't change yourself to suit others.
2. Be Compassionate
Showing you are a compassionate person is a sure-fire way to get you to be a likeable part of your community and your group of friends.
Show people that you care, by helping them when the need it, offering advice, just being a good friend to someone can make all the difference in today's world.
However be cautious when exercising this as people in this day and age are increasingly touchy on there independence so use discretion.
3. Do Not Be Kind For Your Own Self Gain!
I cannot stress this enough but please if you are going to show someone kindness do not do it for self gain. Do not ask for anything in return do not expect anything in return. If it's a favour than yes fine then you may ask for a favour in return. But if you are doing something to be kind then do it for that reason alone. However don't let people mistake your kindness for weakness!.
4. A firm greeting.
Now back when we could shake hands a great greeting would be just that. A firm handshake is a great opener weather its an old friend or weather its a new business client or potential boss. Nowadays a simple introduction should be enough.
5. Be trustworthy.
Finally, stick to your word, don't cheat, don't steal, and don't make promises you can't keep. Cheating is by far the worst thing a human can do mentally to another human. It's a complete break of trust and can ruin a reputation like that. Because let's be honest no one likes a cheat. Once a cheat always a cheat.
