So we’ve officially run out of bases that we actually have available on the website! 🫣

So for the final day of our Back to Bases series, I thought it would be fun to have a little look at some of the bases we might introduce in the future 👀

First up, Swim 🩱

88% Polyester, 12% Spandex and SPF50+.

I’ve dabbled with swimwear a few times for my boys, but it’s something we’d absolutely love to introduce as a proper base/product collection on the website. Think swim tops, shorts, all-in-ones and maybe even swimming costumes 🫣 There are so many possibilities!

Then we have Brushed Back French Terry.

95% cotton, 5% elastane, so it’s our usual lovely soft French Terry on the outside, but with a brushed back making it extra cosy. Perfect for hoodies, jumpers, half zips… basically anything you want to be that little bit more snuggly!

Bamboo French Terry & Bamboo Ribbed Jersey are ones I actually know absolutely nothing about yet 🫣🤣 They’re both 95% bamboo, 5% elastane. And if they’re anything like our Bamboo Jersey, I’m expecting buttery softness, gorgeous drape and that lovely relaxed, comfy feel. Definitely ones I’d love to get my hands on and test!

And finally, Waffle Knit 🧇

95% cotton, 5% elastane, with that gorgeous textured finish for anyone who likes a little something different from their fabrics.I think this would be lovely for jumpers, joggers and hooded cardigans.

And that brings us to the end of our Back to Bases series! 🎉

I’m not sure if I can officially call it a “series” when it’s only been two weeks 🤣 but I’ve really enjoyed sharing a little more about the fabrics we use and hopefully giving you a better idea of what goes into choosing the bases behind your favourite Mitch & Stitch pieces.

We’re almost at the end of our Back to Bases series!

Can I call it a series if I’ve actually managed to post consistently for two weeks? 🤣 I’m counting it!

Today’s base is a fairly new one to us, but one I’ve already used a couple of times for myself. It’s been through multiple wash cycles and I’m really happy with how it’s held up, so I’m now very happy to be adding it to our collection. 🤎

Cotton Interlock 🌿

Now, this one is a little different to our Cotton Jersey.

It’s 100% cotton and has a slight amount of natural stretch to it. It’s soft, breathable and made from a lovely natural fibre, making it a great choice for tops and those everyday comfy pieces.

If you love the feel of Cotton Jersey but fancy something a little different, Cotton Interlock is definitely one to keep an eye out for. 👀

Today’s base is Denim! 👖

Or, to be precise, Cotton Stretch Denim!

It’s made from 95% cotton and 5% elastane, which is very similar to a lot of the bases we talked about last week, but somehow magically it’s still completely different! 😂

Our Cotton Stretch Denim is a similar thickness to our Jersey, but it has a much more structured feel, making it perfect for styles where you want a little more shape and substance.

We use it for both kids’ and adult dungarees, loose fit shorts and trousers, as well as lots of other products.

And, as always, there’s no compromising on the print quality!

Even with the more structured nature of denim, it prints beautifully, meaning you can still choose from our full range of designs without losing all those lovely little details. ✨

So if you love the look of denim but want something with a little bit of stretch and all the print possibilities, our Cotton Stretch Denim is a great choice. 👖🤎

It’s Monday, and we’re back with some more fabric bases! 🧵🤎

Today we’re talking about Bamboo Jersey 🎋

Our Bamboo Jersey is made from 95% bamboo and 5% elastane, and it’s one of those fabrics that you really need to feel to fully appreciate.

We mainly use this base for our lounge tees, think super cosy, modern day nightie, and we also use it regularly for our oversized tees.

It’s soft, breathable, lightweight and super bouncy. That last one probably only really makes sense when you’ve actually tried it on! 😂

It has such a lovely drape and movement to it, making it perfect for those relaxed, comfy styles.

Interestingly though, when this fabric gets wet, it is far from lightweight! 😂

The difference in characteristics when it’s wet always throws me when I’m doing my own washing. It feels like a completely different fabric!

Another lovely base for those who prioritise softness, comfort and that floaty feel. 🤎

Sometimes I can’t wait for a wholesale T-shirt to arrive, so a Primark tee takes one for the team and gets embroidered 😂

This one was actually a little top I made for myself, because apparently I can’t leave my own wardrobe alone either!

Couldn’t resist doing a little bunch of forget-me-nots on this one for my Nan.💙

Ironically, forget-me-nots are the flower associated with Alzheimer’s… so apparently someone, somewhere has a sense of humour. 🥲😂

And finally for this week… Ribbed Squish! 🤎

Think of Ribbed Squish as the perfect combination of Ribbed Jersey and Squish. The best of both worlds! 👌🏼

It’s still a polyester mix, made from 96% polyester and 4% elastane, with a lovely amount of stretch combined with all the soft, cosy goodness you get from Squish.

And once again, it’s another fantastic base for those cooler months. 🍂❄️

We’ve used Ribbed Squish for all sorts of styles, from jumpers and leggings for super cosy lounge sets, to half zips and joggers for the perfect outerwear.

And just like with Ribbed Jersey, choosing Ribbed Squish doesn’t mean compromising on the detail in your favourite designs.

The ribbed texture still works beautifully with our huge variety of prints, from bold and colourful designs to those with lots of intricate little details. ✨

So if you love the look and stretch of ribbed fabrics but want that extra soft, snuggly feel of Squish, Ribbed Squish might just be the one for you! 🤎

Today’s base is Squish! 🤎

Squish is a little different from our previous fabric bases, as it’s made from 95% polyester and 5% elastane.

And if you’re looking for something extra cosy for the colder months, this is definitely one to try! 🥰

Squish is perfect for winter jumpers and joggers, as well as those super-comfy lounge sets that keep you toasty all night long. It’s also especially good for anyone who feels the cold!

It’s incredibly soft, with a lovely pile to the fabric that reminds me of being wrapped up in a big, cosy blanket. 🧸

And despite all that cosiness, it still has plenty of stretch, meaning you can still use your favourite styles for those perfect winter outfits.

Basically… if you want soft, snuggly and warm, Squish is your friend! 🤎

On Wednesday, we wear pink… well, over here we wear Ribbed Jersey! 💕

If you’ve yet to try Ribbed Jersey, you are seriously missing out. 👀

It’s one of those fabrics that is so incredibly versatile. Perfect as a base layer, cosy top layer, leggings, shorts, rompers… you name it!

Just like our Cotton Jersey and French Terry, Ribbed Jersey is made from 95% cotton and 5% elastane.

The difference comes from the way the fabric is knitted. Because of its ribbed construction, it has a little less recovery in the stretch compared to our regular Jersey.

That’s why you’ll find that most of our Ribbed Jersey bottoms have an elasticated waistband, keeping them comfy and secure without you (or your little one!) constantly having to pull up those leggings or harems. 🙌

And don’t let the ribbed texture make you think you’ll lose any of the print quality!

Ribbed Jersey is suitable for all of our designs, from the bold and bright to those beautifully intricate, detailed prints. 🌈✨
