This was such a fantastic day and I can't recommend it highly enough. If you are within reasonable distance from Oxford, it's the most fun I've had with a chisel and some rock ever. You can go with your own ideas, or decide on the day. I rather arrived with no ideas at all & settled on a kind of abstract bowl. David is a fantastic teacher, and the stone carving happens in his & his lovely wife Jane's beautiful garden. We also greatly enjoyed the gracious hospitality from Noodle & Pudding, the Labrador hosts & fellow stone enthusiasts.

If you're interested, contact David to be added to next summer's mailing list! I guarantee he will be sold out fast!

Gosh I've loved this design today! 135 rows means Iā€™m half way in length. But I love the back as much as the front! So clever the way a kind of shadow of the pattern emerges through the back, through the stripes.

I think I'm about 1/3 through... It's getting to that stage where making it keeps my knees all toastie.. :)

Sneak preview... Not quite in the shop window, but I just finished it & couldn't wait to show the results! I so love the red of the roses & I'm still delighted with the way the leaf patterns work. So much fun to make! (Credit to for her fab flower patterns & diagrams šŸ˜)
Just think, we are going to be able to go out and about soon, meeting friends, evenings out, all that stuff we've missed. So OF COURSE everyone's going to need a delicious little cocktail bag, for either Breakfast (at Tiffany's) or maybe, a Roman Holiday. (See what I did there??). Either way, who doesn't want a cute bag...?!
