Disana wool overpants are a wonderfully natural, breathable alternative to PUL wraps. Fantastic for for night time, they allow a greater degree of breathability, leaving your baby feeling cool in warmer weather, and warmer in cooler weather as the evaporation through the double layer soft merino wool has a self-regulating effect according to temperature. They also are of benefit for heavier wetters, as the evaporation effect means less bulky nappies for many and no leaks for the heaviest wetters once you've balanced babies needs with the correct amount of boosting.

We like British Made products, and there are none better in our opinion than the sole remaining mainstream UK nappy wrap manufacturer Nature Babies.

Why are muslins recommended for newborns, and which are the best muslins to buy?
Two main reasons, firstly they're not bulky on a tiny baby, and secondly they're very quick to dry.
A newborn will wee and poo often, and not in a ny great volume, so it's a big advantage to have a nappy that can be washed and dried quickly. Muslins are also pretty cheap, so you can have a lot at very little cost - and once out grown as a nappy they have a multitude of other uses - burp cloths, mopping up cloths, bibs, etc etc.
There's lots of choice of muslins, but my recommendation is to buy ones that are 70-80cm.
High street stores and supermarkets tend to prefer to stock smaller 60cm ones. The advantage of a larger muslin is that it can always be made smaller to fit baby, but you have the advantage of the extra fabric for absorbency.
It's surprising how much more absorbency a 70cm can hold vs 60cm - it's only 10cm...but of course it is square!
A 60cm is 3600cm².
A 70cm is 4900cm².
So you can see a 60cm muslin is going to be less than 3/4 the absorbency of a 70cm muslin. That 10cm makes all the difference.
An 80cm muslin is 6400cm². Almost twice the size and thus absorbency of a 60cm one.
Thickness and quality also come into play. Many muslins are very lightweight and thin, but if you choose a quality one, not only will it wash and wear well but you'll have extra absorbency there too.

Fasten with Nappi Nippas or a pin, and a decent newborn-sized wrap over the top. Cute, effective and inexpensive.

Traditionally terry squares were used with PVC pull on pants, which simply pulled on top and were very easy to use. However these rustled madly, were brittle and prone to cracking after a short period of use, and were waterproof not breathable so could get hot, it's no wonder you can't buy them now.

If you're looking for modern pull on pants, our own Twinkle brand are made especially for us in the UK, from top quality polyester with polyurethane laminate - breathable waterproof, and soft, not crunchy or crackly! These are generously cut to go over any terry nappy, as well as having a soft, stretchy, elasticated binding at the legs and waist that doesn't pinch or rub.
They're lightweight, easy to use (cannot get the settings wrong as there are no settings!) and are ideal over every fitted or fastened on nappy. Including disposables that are prone to a blow out - we sell lots of these for holidaymakers who are resorting to disposables for a holiday.
