Quilting with your Walking foot. With Katharine Beadle. £65. Tuesday 7th October. 10am-2pm

Learn how to use your walking foot to achieve excellent results and finish on your quilts. Quilting patchwork can be a daunting task but there is so much you can accomplish using your walking foot. A walking foot can stop distortion and slipping as it has its own feed dogs that pull the top layers of fabric through at the same speed as the lower fabric. Using your walking foot you can quilt grids, cables, and curves as well as using those fancy stitches on your machine that you have never used before. You will also learn new ways of marking your patchwork to make your quilting a lot quicker. You will need to bring your own sewing machine and walking foot. 2 places left

Learn how to make a professional piped and zipped cushion. You will cover measuring and cutting fabric and piping. Making and attaching piping, neatening seams using the overlocker, inserting a hidden zip and machining to complete. Please bring your own materials (list available on booking and 10% discount if you buy from us). Fabrics must be light furnishing or dress weight as our machines cannot cope with heavy weight fabric, there are a lot of layers to sew through. Check with us if you are not sure. This is a day class and we will stop for a short lunch break (not provided)
