Our mission is to spark a love for reading in our community by hiding and leaving books all over town for parents and children to discover, read, and enjoy. Whether you choose to enjoy the book where you found it or take it home to read and re-hide, the joy of sharing stories is at the heart of our group. Here’s how you can join the fun:

📚 Find a Book: Keep an eye out for hidden books around town

. They could be anywhere!

📚 Read and Enjoy: Take a moment to dive into a new story, either where you found the book or at home.

📚 Re-hide: Once you’ve finished, re-hide the book for someone else to find. Feel free to add a personal note or bookmark for the next reader!

📚 Share Your Adventure: Post hints, tips, and photos in the group to help others in their book-hunting adventures. Let’s create a community of book lovers who enjoy the thrill of the hunt and the magic of a good story. Happy reading and happy hiding!

We’re always looking for new ways to connect with our amazing community! 🌟 We’re considering setting up a stall at either the Market House or the Community Gardens where you can drop off or collect books. This way, we can keep the love of reading alive and give books a new lease of life in our community. 📚✨

To make it even more special, we’re thinking of turning this into a character event. Let us know which character you’d love to see at the stall!

📚 Exciting news, everyone! We've received another generous donation of books, and we're thrilled to be giving them back to the community this weekend!

Do you have any locations in mind where you'd like us to leave some books? We're all ears!

We're also still on the lookout for a perfect spot to set up a community bookshelf. If you know of a great location, please share it with us.

Let us know your suggestions, and we'll do our best to get everything processed and distributed this weekend.

I've just come across this page and have an unusual question. I am a published author (living in Ross) and have a new thriller about to be sent to a publisher. Would any members be interested in reading and critiquing the book (around 71k words)? It means reading it critically; pointing out inconsistencies, things that don't make sense, loose ends not tied up, making characterisation and any other comments etc. I would appreciate a quick turnaround. The book is in Word. Warning: it does contain a modicum of bad language (not much) which may not suit everyone. To know more about me

😢 It’s another sad day for the Ross Reads team.

We have noticed that some people don’t appreciate the idea of a community reading project. As you can see from the pictures below, someone has ripped up our books at The Meads Hildersley.

It’s disheartening to see such disregard for our efforts to share the joy of reading. I’m sure some people will know who has done this. It’s a shame that some can’t just leave things alone if they are not interested.
