We’ve been a bit quiet as we spent a couple of days with the fabulous Tiffany’s Prom at their 2027 launch and the dresses blew us away.

Thanks so much to Leah, Holly and Emma for coming to Birmingham with me to help choose styles for you.

All their input was so valuable in dress selection plus Emma was taxi driver, Holly was on tik tok content and Leah as usual was the show admin expert, making sure we had notes of everything we want to order 💕💕💕

We’re back now and have appointments tomorrow and can do an emergency appointment late Saturday afternoon if needed - at this stage in the season just pop us a message to book in.

🎉 Looking for a dress for a Primary School Prom? 🎉

Many people are surprised to discover that some of our prom dresses are actually perfect for younger girls too!

Sophie came to check we’re not fibbing and had the most magical time - thanks so much Sophie and mum Kelly for helping us yesterday 💕

The biggest thing to keep in mind is that most dresses will need the length altered to suit a primary school pupil. The good news is we can recommend seamstresses and once the Year 11 proms are out of the way their diaries will have a few more spaces.

As part of small business week we need to talk about the why.

But most people know it. Robyn had her prom, we felt we could do it better on a local level, so we did.

There’s a deeper why which again I’ve covered previously - which is that I had my soft play business, which was too far away and not challenging me any more (and also not making money because leisure and hospitality is a tough industry where most things are stacked against you succeeding).

The next why is pretty simplistic - I needed to pay my bills but I also needed flexibility to deal with the things being a single parent throws up (very heavily weighted towards mum’s taxi and the supply of a lot of expensive protein 🍗 🚕).

Ffansi Ffrogs allows me to be in control of life, home, dogs, kids as well as the business without being permanently stressed about how to juggle everything.

And as long as that remains the case and as long as people keep coming to us for their dresses, Ffansi Ffrogs will continue to be a thing 🐸

Ffansi Ffrogs was a risk, a spur of the moment idea. Because of you, our customers and followers it's become more than we ever expected and is busy enough for Robyn to be able to get involved full time as well. We have such big plans from what was a tiny idea.

So we're taking part in Small Business Week from 1st - 7th June. It's the end of the season for us so you might think what's the point but there is honestly so much point....

Small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities, and this week is all about encouraging more people to shop small, buy local and support independent businesses.

Supporting small business is about so much more than buying a prom dress from us.

So many of you bought dresses from us for Prom 2024 and 2025, yet I still see your names pop up liking our posts even now - that's what it's about. You, continuing to support us even when we stop being directly relevant to you.

It's about those who follow, share and like our posts who have never and will never need a prom dress. You just support us because you've heard good things, for whatever reason you like us and are interested in what we do.

So this week we are just asking if you can keep on:

😊 Telling people about us or tagging people you think might need us in 2027 (or a last minute Prom 2026 family of course)

Let’s talk about honesty and communication.

Because both matter when it comes to Prom.

A customer came in yesterday. Ordered a dress from a boutique in Liverpool. Hasn’t arrived but they told her April so obviously she and her mum are panicking and looking for an alternative as they don’t believe the dress is going to turn up. The boutique aren’t communicating with her. No updates, no reassurance. Just disappearing.

I asked to see a photo of the dress. I know the brand. I tell them to give it 2 weeks because I believe the dress will arrive.

I could have chosen not to reassure them and taken a sale, but that family would then have paid over £1000 for 2 dresses.

If I’m wrong and the dress doesn’t arrive in 2 weeks, the customer knows we have dresses she loves as back up. She wishes she came to us in the first place but we are where we are.

After she left I asked some friends in other boutiques when this style is due and I passed this on to the customer. Why am I doing another boutique’s job for them? Reassuring their customer? It’s certainly not for their benefit, it’s because I’m a mum, with a daughter and I know what a stressful time this is.

This is why you shouldn’t drive past us to get to the bigger city prom shops.

Things go wrong, dresses can be delayed but if they are, we will never disappear.

Today, 31st May we have just one dress out of 100s outstanding and it’s in the UK, just not physically in our boutique yet.
