Take a look at this beautiful before and after featuring these stunning Austrian Blinds! What a difference they make to the space.✨

We received a call from this lady who wanted us to come take a look at her Austrian Blinds which had been up for over 30 years… the definitely served their time! We took some of our Chatsworth samples with us and we found one perfect for her✨

Look how much brighter the room looks… we couldn’t believe it✨

These elegant, softly gathered blinds bring a timeless feel to the room while adding warmth, texture and a touch of luxury. It’s amazing how the right window dressing can completely transform a room.✨

✨Meet Cat✨

We thought we would share a little bit about how it all started for Cat☺️

When in secondary school at Fredrick Gough Cat studied GCSE level textiles and took a real interest in all elements of sewing, when she was 15 she started sewing properly through a YTS programme, that’s a where she really got stuck in and learned the basics🪡

When she left school she went on to work for a company based in Scunthorpe called Dress Wise… where she was involved in the production of clothing items for Top Shop and The Burtons Group. This is where she started learning more tricks of the trade and the best ways to achieve work of a high standard✨

When her time at Dress Wise came to an end she found herself moving on to a company called Lebus also based in Scunthorpe where she was doing a lot of piece work, working within soft furnishings like sofas etc, within this job she learnt a little about the upholstery side of the industry🛋️

In 2004 Cat took the leap and started her own business originally called Just Sew Good, which later changed to Material Things. Originally based in Kirton Lindsey for nearly 10 years Cat built a tremendous client base and when she decided to move destinations they all followed, now based in the Isle of Axholme she has grown her client base even more whilst still recieving work from her long time customers over in Kirton Lindsey📍

When she first started her business she was fully self taught in curtains, soft furnishings and upholstery, over the years she has built her skills and experience to a level that she is so proud to offer her customers today✨

It’s been an amazing journey so far and Material Things would not be where it is today without all our amazing customers past, present and future and we couldn’t thank you all anymore 💙

🇬🇧✨ Meet Charles ✨🇬🇧

Allow us to introduce the one and only Charles, the most distinguished bear this side of the biscuit tin🧸

Dressed proudly in red, white and blue, adorned with union jacks and GB emblem’s, Charles wears his colours with honour and charm… He is a British icon in fluffy form✨

Charles enjoys long sits on the sofa, judging everyone’s tea-making abilities (tea, two sugars please… milk last) He insists biscuits should always be properly dunked, waves at absolutely nothing like he’s in a royal procession, and believes queuing is a competitive sport.🏅

He may look dignified, but don’t be fooled… he has a playful streak and loves adventures, celebrations and making new friends. Whether he’s off to a garden party, cheering at a big event or simply sitting proudly on display for all to see, Charles brings joy and a touch of British flair wherever he travels🌏

Please give Charles a very warm welcome.. he is very pleased to meet you all 🇬🇧❤️
