It’s been a fab weekend yet again at Spirit Of Wartime Sherwood WW2 Event, albeit a bit blustery and a few showers. We managed to keep our gazebo anchored and stock dry. Great fellow traders either side of us too, always makes for a pleasant event. There’s no wifi signal there but most people got the “bring cash” memo and we didn’t lose any sales because of it. We’ve met some lovely people who had all had a great day/weekend out. Bring on next year 16/17 May 2027!!

We’ve had a great 1st day at the Spirit Of Wartime Sherwood WW2 Event at Thoresby Park. Didn’t get chance to take any pictures today but we followed this little beauty on our way out. Love the flipper indicators but glad they turned left and we turned right!! Will defo do pictures tomorrow. This is a huge event and even we were surprised by the amount of motor homes, caravans and tents on the visitor’s camping ground, as well as all the military encampments. We particularly enjoy talking to people who have come to stay at the Thoresby Hall Hotel and Spa and who have no idea this event is on in the grounds and who are having a whale of a time. One couple said the 40’s singers were better than the entertainers in the hotel!
Anyway, more of the same tomorrow please - we open at 10am (park open at 9am). If you’re coming, please bring cash as the signal for card payments is non existent!! The Hurricane Flypast is at 12.07 and the battle is at 2pm. Hopefully the allies win as I heard the axis claiming victory today … or maybe they were trying to save face.

We’ve been to set up at Thoresby Park today for this fantastic FREE event in its 4th year and it just gets bigger!! Lots to see and do in beautiful grounds plus a flypast on both days. Bring cash though as the signal is terrible!!

It’s a wrap for Loved Again x for 2025 after a very successful day The Steamworks with Craft & Flea at the Festive Indie Market. As one of the final 3 to pack away, we were able to drive inside the venue to load up, which saved us about 30 minutes in the dark, cold wind and was a welcome bonus - thank you Steamworks, greatly appreciated!
Thanks to all our customers not only today, but over the whole year. It’s been a difficult one with a broken shoulder and subsequent surgery and lengthy recuperation, our gazebo blowing over in Grassington, taking half our stock with it but we’ve weathered the storm and battled on. We’ve been to new venues, some fabulous, some not so fabulous but we tried them. Thanks for all your support 🎄🎄🎄
