Drum roll please...
I am ecstatic to announce the total raised for over the last two weeks!
Wearing a hat really does make a difference!

I never imagined that my goal of £150 would be reached so quickly, and to see it absolutely smashed - well I'm just so chuffed!
Needless to say, I will be adjusting next year's opening goal... coz we are absolutely going to be doing this again!

I have spent today feeling SO grateful for amazing support my friends, customers and colleagues have shown me today - thank you so much!

It was just glorious to walk into the office and see folks sporting their hats... and the MOUNTAIN of food on my desk (for the tea party) left me somewhat overwhelmed - SO MUCH CAKE!!!!!

I'm sharing a few snaps, but I know colleagues have better ones... so I will grab those over the weekend. I confess I was a little preoccupied and wearing lots of organising hats as once!
Things I have learnt though... many of my colleagues have hidden talents, and I will be putting them to good use next year!

I almost lost it though when I spotted some of the "office party plates" 🥹
I was transported back in time to Kerry's house, nursing a hangover... having told my mum that I was stopping at Kez's to babysit her little brothers (pff, as if! 🤣)
I've never forgotten her mum's crockery and it made me feel that Kez was there in spirit 💔
(And now I really HAVE got something in my eye!😭)

Friday 27th March is Wear a Hat Day, the major annual fundraising event for
🎩👒👑

Working as a milliner for the last 20 years, when I learnt about this charity, it was a no-brainer to get involved every year – pun absolutely intended! 🧠

I first started supporting Brain Tumour Research in 2012, in celebration of my best friend from school, Kerry. She lost her battle to this cruel form of cancer, aged just 29. Kez passed away 19 years this month, and I still miss her like crazy! 💔

Going back to full-time work in summer 2025 was a bit of a blow... however I'm not passing up the opportunity to introduce all my new colleagues to this incredibly worthwhile cause!

This year, I'm thrilled to be organising a Mad Hatter's Tea Party at my workplace, complete with a raffle and Imogen's Imagination hat hire... for those who don't have a hat!
(I made a hat for a friend's wedding, and I'm excited to wear it again!)

My last orders have been posted.
Everything is unplugged at the studio
My luggage has been delivered (thanks DHL business account!)
My out of office is turned on for both work emails - both self-employed and full-time employed!
All I need to do now is finish my packing for tomorrow's train journey.

With no "official" Imogen's Imagination Christmas party this year, here's some of the festive headwear I made for myself between 2017 and 2019.
The promise of a party has always helped get me to the end of the year. As a maker, Christmas starts in spring/summer, so I need ALL the incentives possible to complete this marathon!
Sadly, circumstances haven't allowed this too happen for TOO long!

But Scrooge and the Ghost of Christmas Past, don't exist - much like my selfie skills!
Real life isn't like the movies, the carefully curated magazine shoots, or the highlights posted on social media.

What is real though, is my gratitude to all of YOU for your support.

I am utterly blown away by the response to my stupid mistake.
The kind words, the stories from other makers, and the totally unexpected rush of orders... just wow!
I am so very grateful to all of you and these goodies will all be leaving the studio this week.

Things have been so bad on Etsy this year, that I simply didn't question my lack of website sales. My site simply doesnt have the same clout as that behemoth!
But, between the economies in the UK and the US, along with my lack of marketing, I took it as an expected outcome.
🤷‍♀️
My mental health is still pretty ropey, and my confidence very limited, so I just didn't even question the situation.
Turns out it wasn't just in my head after all.

Ps. There was nothing myself or my website dude could have done to catch this.
We don't run test orders when the plugin updates are run... although we will be in future!
It's not a mistake if you LEARN from it... and boy has this been an expensive lesson!

I've had to remove US shipping - it was the DHL plugin that broke the site.
There was nothing myself or my website dude could have done to catch this.
