Had a lovely tuesday eve last night, leading a chat about millinery for a local WI group in East Morton. This was the first millinery related gig for me since the pandemic, as have been totally distracted by & well 2020 happened.

Public speaking was super surreal & bizarre at first, but was then really lovely to chat about all the different materials & techniques I've used in blocking theatrical & contemporary hats. My millinery confidence has kinda gone on holiday the last couple of yrs, so this was good for the soul! Plus free tea & lemon cake, always a bonus.

City burlesque bridal photoshoot, (way back from the summer of 2016) that I made a wee purple hat and ivory colour lilies headpiece for. This has just been featured on a lovely blog. Have a gander.

Sometimes all you need is an exciting box with a geeky delivery of a material you’ve been ogling for ages! This beaut is a millinery material called jinsin or buntal, it comes flat but holds it’s shape and sculpture really well, so you can create elaborate shapes really easily! This is just me holding it twisted on the table and how it comes flat. About to make lots of headpieces and new hats out of this and some other colours, so watch this space! @ Jen Levet Millinery

Introducing The Lace Book! I.e. a service for bespoke bridal veils. I have been sneakily fine tuning the way to order a bridal veil from me (a milliner.. 🤔) & to get all the info you might need on the website first & the lace book is just that. I’ve obviously brought my love of cataloguing info and vintage aesthetics to the party too.. There is a collection of styles to peruse through and also a library of lace trim edges. Now live to have a gander through, and a blog post with more info is also up & the link is in bio!
