Happy International Women’s Day! Who are you celebrating today?

I am so lucky that my life is filled with a fabulous bunch of women. To my amazing family, friends and my PT and hiit clients - thank you for brightening my days.

LEGGINGS THAT DON’T FALL DOWN 🙄

It’s been a while!! All sorts of reasons why - all positive but I’ve just not been posting.

Anyway, the reason for today is I’ve been amused by a request from someone on a running-related Facebook group. They’ve asked for recommendations for leggings that don’t fall down. So far there have been 85 comments and I lost count at 26 DIFFERENT recommendations!

Leggings falling down is frustrating and potentially expensive (especially if you’re working your way through those 26 different recommendations). I recently bought an expensive pair of leggings from a well known brand and they DO NOT stay up! And that is why I invented FITUPS fitness braces - so you can wear your favourite leggings (yep the ones with the pockets and the high waist) and know for sure that they won’t fall down!

365 days and 194 HIIT sessions since the first lockdown started! It’s been a crazy year for everyone but definitely been a time to reflect on your own well being and health!

THROWBACK THURSDAY!!

My fitness journey🥰...

I LOVE FOOD and always have. But, in spite of doing the London Marathon in 2012 as a fundraiser for JDRF and to prove that I could, up until fairly recently I didn't love fitness! When I left my job in the charity four years ago I embarked on losing weight (through Slimming World) and getting fit. And slowly I started to fall in love with working out. I particularly loved the rush of endorphins but also what it was doing to my body. 💪⁠

I was a convert and wanted to help others to feel the same. So three years ago I trained to become a Fitness Instructor and then qualified as a Personal Trainer. I've now been running HIIT classes in my local for 2 years and my personal training client base continues to grow. And I absolutely love it! 💕⁠

Unfortunately my love of fitness was combined with increasing frustration of my leggings falling down when I was working out. I spent lots of time and money searching for the holy grail of leggings or a solution to keep the ones I already had up, but I failed. So instead, I designed my own solution - hence the invention of FITUPS Fitness Braces.

As a mum, daughter, sister and friend I am so fortunate to be surrounded by strong, inspirational women. And as a PT and HIIT instructor, my job is to make women feel confident and good about themselves💪.
Today is a day to celebrate and show appreciation for all the amazing women in my life and around the world!

It’s no surprise that in the FITUP’s household the most used books are my pride and joy- Pinch of Nom. There’s not an evening when my head isn’t in these books.😭
