Too hot for me to be in the shop today but i thought i would show you this beauty.

A 1930s dress that will fit up to a 42” bust and is a beautiful example of an Art Deco novelty prints
Made from navy fine crinkle crepe the novelty print in white with splashes of red.
The dress just pos over the head without any closures.
The bodice has a V-neckline, with self-covered buttons and long waist ties.
The skirt is in two sections, the upper skirt is a fairly slimline shape and has a pointed seam along the upper edge to the front.
The lowers skirts are bias cut and have geometric zigzag seam joining them to the upper skirt.
Loose bell sleeves give a nice blance to the silhouette.

The dress is very versatile in sizing due to the adjustable ties. The measurements will accommodates up to a 38” waist and 42” hips, yet cinches down without any bulky gathering, as shown here on a UK 10. #1930’sgown

1920’s lace dress 36/38” bust , this is a beautiful black lace flapper dress that I have spent quite a bit of time working on to save.
It is such a lovely authentic dress, classic shape, sleeveless with drop-waist shape and lined entirely in black silk.
What made this dress worth saving and my time is the decoration. Stunning colourful machine embroidered, Cornely chain-stitching, large floral motifs in pastel colours.
One on the upper bodice and large, motifs evenly spaced around the the skirt.
Being such a delicate fabric and over a century old, the lace needed repairs to keep it stable. I have gone over the skirt inch by inch and mended several holes by weaving put the connecting threads back in place where they had broken away around the large floral motifs.
The underarms were also quite fragile, so I have reinforced them by adding bias cut black tulle patches, stitching them through to the inner silk liner to give the area support.
Luckily, they are along the under arms so not visible and as original silk lining is still fully intact it has kept the dress in quite good condition.
I have saved her for a few more years to come and she can be worn again but I would not advise any wild dance parties.

This Edwardian wide-brim picture hat was made by Madame West’s Millinery Emporium, which operated on the High Street in Kington, Herefordshire.
The boutique was well-regarded locally for bespoke headwear and apprentice training during the early 1900s.
The black hat is made from woven straw braid and trimmed with a wide black satin ribbon band that has an intricate folded and draped detail extending up onto the top of the crown.
A dense bunch of curved black ostrich plumes and a pink fabric flower finish it perfectly. The interior is lined with a black velvet crown cap, which helps itv retain its shape,

This 1960’s hostess gown has the most colourful print I love it. Being a button through maxi, it would euqually good worn open over jeans. She is tiny just a 24” waist but quite fab .
Made from a rayon crepe with bright orange liner. The wonderful collar and big sleeves just add that bit extra. She is headed is in her way upstairs for a long soak, she is quite grubby. I will show here again when she is ready to leave.
