One from today on this horse that has toe in conformation with the balance of the feet medially high, applied these nice mustad shoes that have a rolled outside edge on them and fullered the outside branch to give more lateral support to help that horse where the centre line from the limbs up above was straight but with the toe conformation turning inwards showed that the centre line was towards the lateral side of the horses foot, excuse the frog trim, they was like concrete 🀣 time to invest in a toeing knife πŸ‘

‼️CORONA VIRUS/COVID-19 ‼️

Hi Everyone
As Farriery and Veterinary work is essential for animal welfare, my personal response to the Covid-19 virus is as follows:

If you would rather I did the horses alone, you can leave them in the stables for me with a head collar on, the rope by the door and a haynet

If your horse usually needs holding for any reason for me to work on, i can arrange for my assistant to hold the horse for me

If you would rather be there in person this is absolutely no problem but PLEASE take necessary cautions to ensure you cannot pass anything on to me try to Avoid touching your horses for as long as possible before I arrive as the virus could stay alive on your animal for longer than most surfaces, cover your mouth if coughing near them, wash your hands etc.

I visit lots of clients on a weekly basis, some of whom may not recover if infected so it’s important you take this infection seriously.

Kind regards
James Scammell Dip.WCF

Interesting case ive been dealing with for a few months, this welsh cob called Dan had a hollow separation in between the hoof wall and the white line, cutting away the hoof wall and applying a straight bar shoe for a few shoeings was definitely the way to go and now Dan is back in normal shoes with the hole grown out and is now back to normality with a nice normal healthy foot πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ΄πŸ‘Œ
