✨ Alice’s dress transformation ✨

When Alice came to me, she already had a vision of how she wanted her wedding dress to look — and I do love a bride with a vision! 🤍

She wanted the overlay turned the other way around so it tied at the back, and she wanted the collar removed. But we needed something special to finish off that new edge…

So I had the idea of adding a gorgeous diamanté and crystal trim — and honestly, it was a GAME CHANGER! ✨

Once the dress was nipped in and shortened, the whole look completely came together. It suddenly had those gorgeous 1920s Gatsby vibes — elegant, glamorous and just a little bit extra! 🥂✨

And that’s what I love about alterations… sometimes it’s those little changes that completely transform a dress.

Alice had a vision, and together we made it happen.

A dress as unique as the bride herself. 🤍✨ Congratulations Alice! You look amazing xx

Over the moon to see these fantastic photos of Jessica 🤍 in her fabulous gown from Once Upkn A Bride. Alterations to the length and fit including additional boning to provide more structure. And look at the detail in the hem - tulle with lace appliqués and horse hair braid (that’s the stiff edge attached to the hem to give extra definition) which also needs unpicking, repositioning and restitching as part of shortening the dress. Plus I also altered Jessica’s mums dress and her two bridesmaid dresses. Jessica you look totally beautiful 🥰. It was a pleasure doing your alterations from start to finish xx

Just look at those pearls! 🤍

Kelly’s dress had the most gorgeous pearl detail across the top of the bodice and straps. The bodice needed nipping in and the straps needed shortening and, with all those pearls to work around, it definitely wasn’t the easiest alteration!

I also tailored the hips and back so the dress beautifully hugged Kelly’s figure, and shortened the length.

A few careful alterations made all the difference — creating a fit that felt made just for her. You look amazing Kelly 🤍xx

🤍 The little details that make a dress completely yours…

You may remember my previous video showing some of the hand sewing on this beautiful ivory lace wedding dress. 🪡🌸

Hannah had a vision — she wanted delicate flowers added to the dress to tie in with her bouquet.

I cut individual flowers from another fabric and hand-sewed each one onto the dress, carefully arranging them so they enhanced the lace without overpowering it.

I also made new straps, altered the length and tweaked the fit to make sure everything sat beautifully.

And I absolutely love how the flowers came together with her bouquet — such a beautiful, subtle detail that made the dress feel completely personal to her. 🤍

So many hours of careful hand sewing, but I think the finished result was worth every stitch, don’t you?! ✨

A truly special one 🤍

Amy wore her mum’s original wedding dress — completely redesigned and reworked by me. The changes included a new corset back, completely redesigned skirt using the original skirt fabric, repositioned lace, additional underarm lace sections to give better range of movement and lots more …

Every single seam was taken apart, reimagined and carefully reconstructed, with 10 fittings along the way to bring the new design to life.

Without a doubt, one of my most creatively challenging projects… and one of the most enjoyable. ✨

So honoured to have given such a cherished dress a whole new chapter. 🤍

Alterations to the length and fit for Shannon’s beautiful gown. Here’s what she had to say:“thank you so much for making my dream dress, everyone loved it and so did I, I was so comfortable 😊” .

And that’s the whole reason why you should get the most important dress of your life professionally fitted - so it looks perfect, you feel amazing in it and it’s comfortable enough to wear all day. Congratulations Shannon, it was an absolute pleasure 🥰
