Hi Everyone ,
What a mad couple of weeks it’s been; since starting my new business here at Gifted & Blessed straight after my holiday in Las Vegas it’s been non-stop hectic (but in a crazy good way).
I’ve barely had time to think in between sorting business ideas, cataloguing inspirations, setting up my pages on Facebook and Instagram ( - check it out!) and consulting with lovely new clients in addition to being busy sewing garments for my regular clients.
Life can’t get much better than when you find your true passion and finally turn it into a business (except for when you’re sunning yourself around a pool in 40-degree heat, of course!)
My holiday to Las Vegas was fab with lots of great shopping, good company and amazing things to see and do. The shopping malls in the hotels are phenomenal, as are the designer outlets toward the edge of the city. Got lots of ideas and inspirations for forthcoming sewing projects jotted down whilst lounging by the pool which I will sew and share with you in future posts.
In the meantime I’ve made a little mood board of a few photos of my favourite designer shop fronts which I took whilst out and about.
Coach is a great designer brand which produces really quirky casual fashion that can be dressed up or down for day or night. Their Varsity-style jacket is something that won’t date and will go with anything from a floaty maxi dress to create a boho look for an evening out or with jeans and a t-shirt for a more casual day look. Burberry (one of my favourite designer brands) always manages to put styles together that are effortlessly cool; their trench coat keeps evolving so that it never looks dated and looks great with anything. Just as fresh is Prada, who combines different styles in a truly unique and unconventional look; I love this label for its edginess and delivering something different, like the bustier top worn over a shirt with wide leg trousers in the collage. Valentino seems to be more feminine and girly in the fabrics and shapes they use, and I’m really feeling the sixties-esque vibe going on with the mini dress. Kate Spade, although being better known for her handbags, does smart casual in an elegant way with lovely prints and fabrics. Chloe is another of my favourite designer brands that always seems to design fashion that’s timeless and cool yet casual at the same time. I love the simple design of the shirt dress with its mix and match of fabrics and attention to detail. Hopefully these will inspire you as it has inspired me - I do love how the field is constantly evolving and changing, and always offering something new.
Have a great weekend everyone.
