Lorna Abel Textile Artist A page to showcase my Textile art. Hand and Machine embroidered framed pictures and cards Landscapes and flowers are important in the designs of my work.

The movement and moods of the ever changing sea is also captured and expressed in stitch. Dyed fabrics and printed materials are layered onto felt to form the machine embellished background to my textiles. Machine and hand stitching is then applied to complete the images.

Lorna will be showing her work at the Stitched Art exhibition at Sir Harold Hillier Arboretum and Gardens Oct 19th-31st
‘Landscapes and flowers are important in the designs of my work. Birds have also inspired my work, using pattern and colour in an artistic way. The movement and moods of the ever changing sea is captured and expressed in stitch.
Dyed fabrics and printed materials are layered on to felt to form the machine embellished background to my textiles.
Machine and hand stitching is then applied to develop the images.’

I am exhibiting some of my Textile artwork at Chalks Gallery in Lymington. The exhibition is 'Making Waves' . There is a superb variety of work on display and for sale including art, pottery, glass and jewellery all centred on this nautical theme.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
