Thank you to everyone that came along to the Mamas Events Swindon Alt Market STEAM Museum this weekend.

It was lovely to talk all things silversmithing, jewellery making and shop opening. So if you bought something from me, took a card or just stopped for a chat, thank you.

I’ve got a few busy weeks ahead now.
I start the Fine Silver diploma with Jessica Rose | Jewellers Academy tomorrow and I’ve got to get everything finished in the shop before the 26th. And in the middle of that im taking part in Swindon Open Studios on the 19th and 20th Sept at The Barn at Great Moorleaze Farm not to mention finishing customer orders 😱

But hey, it’s the fun of running your own business, right?!😆

It’s almost time to open the doors to my shop and workshop space.

There is still a lot to do, in between customer orders in my home studio, but it’s getting there. It’s going to look amazing!

This weekend I’ll be at the event where my business started, the first event I ever did as Charming Bee Accessories before evolving into Black Hive Jewellery.

3 years on and so much has changed for my business.

I’m not sure I’ll be doing many events once the shop is open (separate post on that one later 😁) but I love these events.

The stall holders are amazing and the team at Mamas Events Swindon are fantastic! Thank you for everything you do.

Exciting new!! My small business is a finalist for “Best small business in Wiltshire” The UK Small Business Awards

28 years ago I got my results. They were not the best.
With an adjustment to the course I wanted to do, I went to college. However I was still struggling so I dropped out. I then worked in a shoe shop, then in Pensions and spent 20 years working for a big automotive company.

4 years ago that job came to an end and I had to find another job. What I’ve found is something so much more and I’m about to open a shop!

Yes you need certain grades to get onto the course you want at to do at college, but there are always people there to help you if you didn’t get what you needed. Don’t lose hope!!

So whatever you get today, I wish you all good luck as you step into the next phase of your education.

I’m now off to school with my daughter to collect her results 😁
