Sciales was already a celebrated handbag designer, who also made shoes, hats, scarves, drapes... almost anything that could be sewn, and some things that couldn't. Lowe had just returned from Professor Calamity's now famous exploration of the "true" poles by dirigible. During this time Oliver was abandoned by the crew... a result of chronically burning toast in the morning... and left to live in i

solation in the frozen tundra. Lowe of course discovered the now famous subterranean tunnels to the Lost Inner World of the Selenites, for which he was flown home (eventually) and awarded the Order of Merit by Queen Elizabeth II. In dire need of a snappy tailcoat for the event, he pestered Ms. Sciales until she relented, with the condition that Mr. Lowe make the pattern. Two weeks and several fights later, the first DAS-OWL garment was born.
