Pippyann

Pippyann I love to knit and crochet, but I get bored very quickly so I decided to concentrate on small things.

Sometimes, though, I get carried away and will make a shawl. I also love using different textures and colours so I am always on the lookout for new yarns. I started making things for sale in the 70s and used to have help from several other people and sell at parties similar to Tupperware. I transported all my stock in the children’s Silver Cross pram as that was the easiest way to get around what

was then a much smaller village. I also taught crochet at the local night school for several years. Sizes are for birth to about 4 months and some are very small, ideal for premature babies. My prices are based on the cost of the yarn plus complexity and therefore vary accordingly. My favourite yarn is cashmere, although there is always another out there waiting to be discovered. Just because an item is marked as SOLD it doesn’t mean I can’t make another, although you will have to wait a few days.

Well after a very eventful few years I’m back again, but this time it’s different. I’m now living in Far North Queensland with my daughter and her family.
I have my own flat and am getting used to the heat. Obviously woollen things are not necessary here, so I will be experimenting with cotton and bamboo. I have already been asked to make some of my spiral beanies for people who go south where it’s colder. The range of yams is slightly different here, but interesting. Most of my patterns are still en route; should be here after Christmas (fingers crossed). I’m looking forward to getting started.

Just finished. A Light shawl made of 75% wool, 25% synthetic. It’s a shame people don’t wear them more as they are so comfortable. I have heavy and light ones and they are like comfort blankets!
