About Caitlyn’s Closet

My name is Maxi and I am the owner of Caitlyn’s Closet. My business is named after my youngest daughter Caitlyn, as I found a love for sewing shortly after she was born, about three years ago; and that is where my journey started. I soon noticed i also had a keen interest in designing and creating garments (if someone had said to me ten years ago that i would be doing this for a living, I honestly don’t think i would of believed them). I am a self taught seamstress and have found my way through the help of many DIYS and YouTube tutorials. After posting numerous posts about what i had made, a few friends (you know who you are) suggested I turn it in to a business and that's when i decided to take the leap and created Caitlyn’s Closet.

Caitlyn’s Closet started out with the idea in mind to create cute, quirky baby clothes like this dress:

After several months I progressed on to selling ladies clothing, started out with basic velvet shirred dresses and maxi dresses. I also found a love for making the occasional bag and moving on to other items such as purses and hair accessories.

I would have to say my favourite products I make are my dresses. I love changing up the style of each and every one of them. Even though they are simple, adding things to them and taking things away from them can change them dramatically which I love. So that is pretty much it for me. I hope you will join me on this ever growing journey! :)
