Sorry for the doggo… any excuse to get in a photo 🙄

Custom set of scrubs off to a lovely young lady who’s decided for superhero day at school, she’s going in wearing these - because the NHS staff are all heroes 🥰

Made in the same style we used to make them for the hospital staff in 2020

No charge for these as we had the fabric anyway, instead the recipient has offered to make a donation to the Ukraine via Alfie in Babbacombe

Hi all!

Long time no speak - sorry about that 😐

Last year we were involved with helping the very generous Alfie in Babbacombe (it won’t let me tag him?!)

We made loads of stockings out of repurposed duvet covers because it helped save money to go towards presents to fill them instead

We are once again going to help - but we are totally out of Christmas themed duvet covers 😪

If anyone has any they could donate, we would be eternally grateful, along with the families receiving the stockings this year

Good evening all!

Just a quick (probably not quick!!) post to wish all our supporters a happy new year - and boy do we need a better one than this year 😔

A little review for you all:

Over 130 sets of scrubs made and distributed over the country.
Countless scrub hats, headbands, ear savers & wash bags sewn from repurposed duvet covers generously donated by the public in Torbay & Teignbridge.
Money raised for Rowcroft Hospice.
Tons of masks made from extra material and pillow cases donated by Asda Newton Abbot - sent to Rowcroft and Louisa Cary ward.

Then we went quiet - which was a good thing really, it meant the NHS and care sector were starting to get stock levels back to normal.

November hit, so we spoke to The Babbacombe Pantry who were running low on supplies & offered help... so we repurposed duvets again into stockings, baby bibs, napkins, dog bandanas, mask pouches, toys and more... and delivered this to Alfie along with teddies donated by Peachy Crafts. The items were distributed to the younger community who were unlikely to have much of a Christmas this year.

Sadly, we now have tiers in the country because of the new strain, and it’s back to extra special measures to help try and get us back to a normal way of life next year 🤞🏼

We hope you’re all enjoying yourselves safely tonight! And thank you to the public who donated to us!

And the biggest Thank You’s to:

All NHS staff
All care workers, support workers and care home staff
All retail staff keeping those essentials available
All dental staff and vet teams
Food outlets
And by no means least, the teachers... who have pushed themselves to keep children learning

It’s likely we’ve missed someone to say thanks to, please accept our apologies if we have 😔

It’s December already?! 😱

As we move to complete a further batch of stockings for The Babbacombe Pantry, it must mean it’s also tree time!

Also underway are some special pyjamas for some boys and girls to wear on Christmas Eve, plus a few bespoke stockings for them to be delivered in 🥰

We also have 2 festive themed scrub tops in med/large in stock available to anyone working frontline on Christmas Day - message us for them (it’s only fair that it’s one per person though, sorry 😞)

To all retail and frontline staff, we say the biggest thank you we can; and dedicate Missys Makeorium’s tree in your honour 💖 You’re our heroes, and we wish you the best Christmas ever 😀

Phew! The dining room is a little emptier now 😄

Delivery done... onto the next projects!

We have a little bit of Xmas duvet material left, so we will do some scrub tops for TH Christmas Day shift staff

Head over to The Babbacombe Pantry to see the work Alfie has been doing, busy lad this weekend delivering stockings and presents to Eat That Frog... he’s now got to divide up donations and gifts from their wish list for the next run - it constantly doesn’t tag his page, so I’ll put it in the comments box 🤨

We have some brill kids duvets in stock, which are currently becoming pyjamas amongst other things... in the meantime, here’s Reg modelling a former set of curtains (now a blanket) 🐶🐶🐶

Woweeeee! 😍

So we are ready to drop the first batch of items to Alfie at The Babbacombe Pantry tomorrow!

Can’t actually fit everything in... but off to be sorted into gifts are:

Teddies (links to creators will be in the comments thanks to me not being able to work the new FB page app 😖😂)
Stockings
Dog bandanas (not pictured)
Baby bibs
Mask pouches
Tree decorations
Pyjamas
Quilted blanket
Fabric napkins
Tote bags (not pictured)

Makey makey matchy matchy still under way on more bits, but most of this has been created by repurposing duvets and fabric (some items using the creators own fabric and stuffing etc)

We are now getting requests for Christmas themed scrubs for staff working on the 25th December... we will work on these as they come in.

A display of some of the sample items can be seen at Torbay and District Funeral Service on Babbacombe road, they’ve very kindly agreed to take in duvet donations for us which we will collect in as they arrive.

It’s nice to have a purpose for our team again, stay safe everyone 🙂

Waheeyyy!

Some of the bedding donated in the last week (got 2 lovely Christmas ones but they’re already allocated!)

We can either create scrubs for frontline staff, or repurpose into kids pyjamas

Aaaand we’re off!

Today is “cut up duvets” day (well, week)

One of the motherships has some of the duvets donated, she’s making a start on some children’s pyjamas this week

One of the daughters has the other duvets... starting with this double sided children’s duvet cover, these will become two blankets 😁

We will also be having a bit of a display in St Marychurch showing some of the items we’ve repurposed so far; you can see this soon at Torbay and District Funeral Service on Babbacombe Road.
