A little about Sarahsews; I work as freelance alteration specialist, in bridal and evening wear. I work very closely with Helen Taylor at The Bridal Box, working in the shop every other Saturday and working on the majority of The Bridal Box dress alterations so we can ensure the perfect fit for all our lovely brides. I am very qualified to do this work having worked in the fashion industry in Lon

don for many years as a senior pattern cutter and garment technologist after getting my 2:1 Ba(hons) in fashion design, now many moons ago!! I love my work and am at present fitting in as much as possible around my two beautiful babies, as they get older I aim to take on more and expand more back into the design side:)

Any job I take on is priced dependent on the work involved and a quote will be given on consultation.

Hello June, wow half way through the year already and manic May is finally over! Busy sewing all those gorgeous June dresses and starting all the equally beautiful July dresses. So looking forward to another busy month ahead and time to finish my daughters prom dress 💛 I have a few brides to share with you over the next few days, don’t forget to keep sending in those pictures 💛

The stunning Chloe has sent me through these gorgeous pictures of her in her beautiful dress. The alterations on the lace covered dress that I did were lifting the hemline, taking in the bodice swapping out bra cups for more supportive ones and tightening the straps. Perfect 🤍 thank you for sending me the pictures Chloe I wish you both a lifetime of happiness 🤍

The absolutely stunning got married at the beginning of May in the gorgeous lace dress. I took this dress in through the bodice which was all tulle and lace and I also took in the sleeves. Everything looked amazing. Thanks Ellie for sending me these stunning pictures to share by 🤍

I can’t believe it’s May already! That’s nearly half way through the year, wedding season is very much in full swing and heading into peak season. I only have availability for weddings late September onwards for 2026 and for next year I currently only have off peak availability as 2027 looks to be another busy year. 2026 that I have already done and If you have your wedding pictures then please send me some I love to see the whole look come together and share the work I have done pretty please 🤍

April and it finally feels that spring may be springing! And wedding season is in full swing. April’s dresses are in various stages of deconstruction to finishing. I am also busy meeting all my beautiful May brides for 1st fittings and love hearing all the excitement of up coming weddings. Also busy working on mother of bride and groom dresses for so many glamorous mums 🤍 I can’t wait to see all the gorgeous photos so please remember to send me some 🤍

Wahoo 🤍 1st pictures that I have received through from one of my 2026 brides 🤍 the gorgeous Andrea got married in March in the amazingly sunny destination of Australia, she had this gorgeous A-line dress full of sparkle and lace detail. The alterations I did were attaching matching lace to some tulle pre made detachable straps, I took it in over the bust seams and added a supportive bust cup then I lifted the hem line and added a bustle. Congratulations Andrea you looked stunning, thank you for letting me share these pictures 🤍

50!!! And fabulous 🩷 here’s a few images of how it’s going so far and it’s not too bad, family roast yesterday which was amazing, balloons, flowers, breakfast today in teignmouth with a lush early morning walk along the beach. Then went to buy my present which is 3 olive trees to go along the fence we now just have to tidy up the boarder at Easter so that can sit closer to the fence as it has a bit of a drop but looking good so far… so thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes here’s to the next fifty …

Hello March, Hello Spring and Hello wedding season 2026 💛 Spring brides your time is now, March dresses are nearly all completed and April are all fitted so it’s sew, sew, sew.. also it’s my 16th this month and a slightly bigger number coming up for my birthday later this month 💛 lots to look forward too especially spring and hopefully less rain 🤞🏼

February ❤️ the run up to the 2026 wedding season is fully on now, and it’s going to be another busy one I am already fully booked up till October, which I am so grateful for❤️. Izzy’s prom dress is starting to take shape and I need to get it done by the end of March as June is so far the busiest month of wedding season ❤️ but lots of exciting sewing going on already ❤️
