A little about Sarahsews; I work as freelance alteration specialist, in bridal and evening wear. I work very closely with Helen Taylor at The Bridal Box, working in the shop every other Saturday and working on the majority of The Bridal Box dress alterations so we can ensure the perfect fit for all our lovely brides. I am very qualified to do this work having worked in the fashion industry in Lon

don for many years as a senior pattern cutter and garment technologist after getting my 2:1 Ba(hons) in fashion design, now many moons ago!! I love my work and am at present fitting in as much as possible around my two beautiful babies, as they get older I aim to take on more and expand more back into the design side:)

Any job I take on is priced dependent on the work involved and a quote will be given on consultation.

September, literally one of my favourite months, it’s a bit like a new year, new things everything changes from the heat of summer. I have one starting year 10 and one heading in to A-levels at sixth form tomorrow. Peak wedding season is nearly over the light is at the end of that extremely busy tunnel 🤍 I have major house renovations starting this month, we are finally giving our house the glow up she deserves and this brings really big changes for Sarahsews so watch this space for updates it’s really exciting… I do have very limited space for November and December brides…. I also have limited for Jan, Feb and March 27. Also don’t forget to send me pictures 🤍.

The beautiful Hannah Landen got married back in June in her stunning The Bridal Box dress. For Hannah’s dress I lifted the hem, took in the full lace bodice and added a more supportive bra cup, the results look stunning 🤍 for Hannah’s bridal party I also took in bc and lifted the hem of a bridesmaid’s dress and took in her mother of the brides dress. The photos are stunning as at Hannah and thank you for sharing them with me🤍

14 🩵 my gorgeous boy is 14 today, he is kind, funny and caring what more can a mum ask for he makes my world complete and he still gives me the best hugs. I have been banned from my workroom for today which I am not complaining about and we will be celebrating with a Christmas dinner upon request as his birthday meal. Happy birthday my baby boy 🩵

The gorgeous Sonia, got married back at the beginning of Mayin this stunning The Bridal Box dress. For Sonia’s alterations I removed the straps took it in through the bodice and lifted the hem. And doesn’t she look amazing 🤍 thank you so much for sending me these pictures through🤍

August brides your time has come 🤍 peak wedding season so many dresses to work my magic on. Nearly all my September brides have had 1st fittings, won’t be long till October brides will get fitting calls🤍Availability wise I do have space for October, November, December 2026 weddings and 2027 I can currently only take brides on for January, February and March so for any of those months get booking, currently FULL from April- September 2027 for all my The Bridal Box brides and the mums The Bridal Rooms of Wellswood 🤍

The gorgeous Daisy got married back in March in the beautiful The Bridal Box dress. I removed the sleeves which meant binding and finishing the armhole. The shoulders were taken up. The gorgeous Jodie Ward 🌴 got married back at the end of May in this beautiful The Bridal Box dress. Alterations included lifting the shoulders, taking in through the sides and princess/bust seams also adding in a hidden bust dart at the underarm. More supportive bust cups and boning structure were added to the bodice to give this beautiful fit I also lifted the hem. Jody looked perfect on her big day, thank you for sending me these pictures they are stunning. 🤍

A day late but July is here in a flurry of Ivory satin and tulle. I am flat with all the gorgeous July dresses and busy fitting August and early September dresses. I do currently have availability for October weddings through to March 27. So it’s lots of hot, steamy sewing going on and trying to sort out the rest of life around that. 🤍

Prom 2026 - back in October Izzy and I sat down together and designed this dress, a modern day Belle. Over the winter I worked on the pattern and toiled then have worked sewing it all together around all my bridal work, I don’t normally do prom as it’s peak bridal season but this one was so worth it. Izzy deserves every minute she has consistently worked hard on her exams and is the kindest, sweetest girl and we all love her and are so proud of her 💛 enjoy your prom beautiful girl 💛 and an extra special shout out to our amazing Glam Ward for coming over and doing the stunning hair and make up 💛

The beautiful Abigail Vernalls got married at the end of May and sent me these stunning pictures of her in her The Bridal Box dress. l made custom sleeves in matching fabric to the dress and also lifted the hem. Abi also wanted a keepsake added inside the dress so with one of her dads shirts I made a heart and hand stitched inside the bodice so she could have him close on her wedding day 🤍 Abi you looked amazing on your big day thank you for sharing you pictures 🤍
