In a rare twist of events, yesterday I SAID YES TO THE DRESS!!!

Huge thanks to the wonderful ladies at The One Stop Wedding Shop, a fabulous pop up bridal boutique located in Castle Quays, Banbury.

As a bridal seamstress myself, I really had no idea what I wanted when it came to my own dress, and of course I had planned to make it. However my bridesmaids and I stumbled across this place by chance, in a last minute Internet search after our original dress ‘perusing’ plans fell through. So I went there with a completely open mind, just wanting to try on dresses without any pressure, simply to find out what actually suited me and what I liked. I was adamant when we were en route that I absolutely would not be buying a dress that day. I just wanted to see what they looked like on me for a change, instead of me seeing the dresses on other people.

Well, how wrong was I?! Clare was absolutely wonderful, and her patience was second to none because, let me tell you, it turns out I am THE most indecisive, and somewhat nonchalant, bride on the planet. But Clare was so helpful, patient, kind, honest, and everything in between. She went above and beyond to help me find my dream dress, despite knowing what I did for a profession and that I had no intention to even buy anything that day. There was absolutely no pressure from her at all, just pure transparency and support. Well, I found my perfect dress, at a superb price point, and I knew there and then I would be walking out of the shop that day with THE dress. It was the very first (and only!) shop I went to, and was the very first dress I tried on. And all because the original plan fell through and we visited on a whim!!! Talk about fate. 💕

If you are looking for your perfect wedding dress, I highly recommend paying these two wonderful ladies a visit. They are there for one month only, so get there whilst you can! You won’t be disappointed.

My wonderful bride Hema bought this dress to me in tears after someone else had attempted to alter it for her. Unfortunately, they weren’t a professional bridal specialist and the clean, crisp lines of this gown had been ruined, and the fit was way off. Fortunately I knew I could take it apart to build it back up into the beautiful, timeless dress it once was, and make it fit impeccably during the process.

The photos of Hema on her wedding day speak for themselves. An absolutely beautiful person both inside and out, who put her trust in me and was over the moon with the outcome.

The deconstruction of someone’s wedding gown can seem a little scary at times, but it’s absolutely worth it to achieve such beautiful results.

(Unfortunately I didn’t think to take any before photos, I think you will all still agree that the finished result is stunning!)
