THIS IS WHY THESE SWEATSHIRTS EXIST

People often ask me why everything at Uzma Bozai has to mean something.

Why the sweatshirts carry messages.
Why they speak about hope, freedom, love.

And honestly…
because getting dressed has never felt separate from the world around me.

What we wear says something.

About what we tolerate.
What we believe.
What we protect.
What we stand for.

These sweatshirts were never designed just to be clothes.

They’re conversation starters.
Acts of solidarity.
A way of showing up.

Purpose.
Worn loud.

I’ve always found something hopeful about gardens.

The way things return.
The way life quietly insists on growing again.

A biodiversity talk about Palestine really stayed with me this week and reminded me how connected all of this is:

Nature.
People.
Home.
Belonging.

Because destruction is never only about buildings or borders.

It’s landscapes.
Ecosystems.
Memory.
Culture.
The right to feel rooted somewhere.

The talk is being run again this Wednesday to raise money for All Our Relations and I’ll share the link in my bio for anyone interested.

I think the older I get, the harder I find it to become numb to suffering.

And maybe that’s why some of us sound angry sometimes.

Because caring deeply about the world can be painful.

But I still think hope is probably just choosing to keep caring anyway.

Thank you to and to all the women who will not be silent.

As someone who’s been called an “angry woman” more times than I can count, I’ve learned to wear it as a badge of honour.

Because hope and fury can live in the same heart.

And often, anger is really just heartbreak refusing to stay silent.

To the women speaking up, showing up and standing together - I stand alongside you always.

SHOULDER TO SHOULDER

My heart is in London today.

Standing shoulder to shoulder with people marching against hate, racism and dehumanisation.

I couldn’t be there physically because of this shoulder, but I’ve been thinking a lot today about belonging.

I’m the daughter of generations of immigrants.

Afghanistan to India.
India to Pakistan.
Pakistan to Britain.

Every generation worked their socks off. Built community. Gave back.

So when people tell me to “go back where I came from”… I genuinely wonder, how far back would you like me to go?

And if that same logic applies, why shouldn’t Palestinians be allowed to return home?

What gives me hope is this new tribe.

Standing shoulder to shoulder today.

Believing in humanity.

And believing Palestinians deserve freedom, safety… and the right to live.

I’m standing with you in spirit today.

Today marks 78 years since the Nakba - the mass displacement of Palestinians in 1948.

More than 700,000 people were forcibly removed from their homes. Hundreds of villages were destroyed. Families were scattered across borders, refugee camps and generations of exile.

For Palestinians, the Nakba was never simply history.

It continues through occupation, displacement, erasure and the ongoing denial of freedom, dignity and humanity.

Tomorrow, thousands will march through London because silence in the face of dehumanisation is not neutrality - it’s complicity.

And because “never again” should mean never again for everyone.

“A NEW TRIBE”

Words by Misan Harriman that have stayed with me.

The ones who don’t look away
The ones who show up
The ones who stand together

On Saturday, thousands will march through London remembering the Nakba and standing against the rise of hate and far-right division.

That’s a tribe I want to be part of:

People choosing humanity over fear
Community over division
HOPE over hate

In a world that needs us to show up,
I’m learning there’s another way to keep going.

Staying open.

Letting things grow.

Spring has always felt like hope to me
- the time I start to imagine what might grow.

This year feels different.

The world feels heavy.

So I’m trying to move a little differently.

Slower.

Softer.

So I can keep showing up.

Let love grow đź’š
