I live in San Dimas, California, USA. Southern California has been in a severe drought for five years. But this winter has finally brought rain—lots of it. It hasn’t completely alleviated the drought, partly because not all the rain can be collected and stored, but it has brought immense relief. Last summer in our area, everything that should have been green was brown and brittle. The rain may not continue through the spring and summer, but today I am grateful that this is the view from my bedroom window in the condo community where I live.
