Our newest recruit, Andrew Crisp, is loading up Rock Oil Biodegradable Enviro-Hyd PAO 25 Hydraulic Oil, which is especially suitable for mobile machinery exposed to low temperatures in the open, or any systems exposed to wide changes in temperatures such as mobile plant and cold store trucks. Whereas Ricky is as proud as punch to be delivering FUCHS UK Hydrotherm 46M, an HFC fire resistant Hydraulic Oil, satisfying the 7th Luxembourg Report. This environmentally harmless, rapidly biodegradable fluid is ideal for use in mobile and stationary hydraulic systems, in the steel industry in rolling mills at risk of fire, in die-casting bays and in mining industry applications.

Rock Oil manufacture a superb range of mould oils and release agents for use in the manufacture of brick, concrete, tile and porcelain. The mould oils come in two categories: neat and water soluble, can be applied by spray or brush, and can be used with most types of mould, including wood, steel, plastic, rubber and fibreglass. Here, Depot Supervisor Richard Neville has just off-loaded an IBC of No. 2 P Concrete Mould Oil for delivery to a local paving company.

We often talk about engineering skills being lost, but we should celebrate the young people, and those companies supporting them, who are making sure NEW blood comes into the sector.

On a recent visit to Rocket Medical, Tyne & Wear Oils Depot Manager Leah Peters was introduced to James Loader, who has recently achieved his Apprenticeship in Professional Tool Making. Still keen to learn, Leah took James through the basics of refractometer usage, and answered his questions about the services that Tyne & Wear Oils provide.

With more companies in the North East working with Tyne & Wear Oils to stay HSE compliant, this new batch of engineers can focus on their trade, without worrying about their health!

Hitting the Mark with Health and Safety!

Following a recent visit from the HSE, Evak Engineering have been working closely with Leah Peters and Tyne & Wear Oils to comply with all of the Health & Safety and Testing requirements for Water-Mix Metalworking Fluids.

The company is going from strength to strength, with their latest investment in their XYZ RMX 3500 and Proturn RLX 425 machines, and their CONTINUED investment in staff such as Davy, who recently celebrated 21 years of service!

With year-end recently, base oil and additive shortages, as well as massive price hikes, it’s been pretty manic here at Tyne & Wear Oils. However, we still have stock, we still have our fantastic customer base and as a close team, we are still striving to maintain our outstanding service, as well as recognising the importance of taking the time to appreciate and smell the flowers outside of the office depot window!

Always remember it’s just as important to play hard (or at least relax), as well as work your socks off!
