Last week I had the opportunity to attend a 3 day millinery retreat with The School of Millinery Community Page .We were a small group of 4 and we'd all suggestions of our millinery gaps or techniques we'd like to learn or improve. Jenny planned the days to accommodate our needs and to support us to achieve our objectives.
It was like being in a sweetie shop with access to all blocks and equipment at Jenny's studio & we'd taken our own materials (too many)! so everything was well co-ordinated. Our creative time was mixed with planned presentations to support our development, with themes such as colour theory, trends and all aimed to help move ourselves and our business in a positive direction.
It was so much fun sharing thoughts, ideas and asking - "What if I...?" or "Could I...". It was a brilliant laughter filled environment to work and learn in.
We were fully supported by Jenny at every step, including regular tea/coffee and cake breaks. I left the retreat with 4 hats to finish and 2 hired hat blocks which I am looking forward to using. The experience left me/us feeling inspired, with new techniques to put into practice and a sense of renewed confidence.
The retreat was a brilliant idea.
Thanks Jenny for a really fab few days.
