It is with a heavy heart and great sadness to announce we are closing Clays Menswear in West Malling.
We have loved every minute of the 4 years trading in the high street and will desperately miss the interactions with our regular customers (many of which we now class as friends) and our local business colleagues.
Owning a local independent business is not just about selling product it’s also a place for chatting and laughing and where friendships develop and stories are shared.
Our high street is a precious part of the community once referred to as the heart of a community and it is worth fighting for and protecting. It is a place to meet up with friends, a place to celebrate special events, a place if you’re feeling lonely to walk down and see a familiar face.
If you want to see variety in the high street then you must think Shop Local first. It’s important to connect the action of using a local business and so contributing to its survival versus shopping online or going to a shopping outlet centre of which both contribute to the demise of the high street.
West Malling is a wonderful place to live and visit so next time you need to buy a gift, book a venue for an event or pamper yourself in one of our hair & beauty salons then please think can I do so in our High Street. Small changes will make a huge difference
