We make wooden outdoor mud kitchens in our workshop in Whickham, they are all made to order so you can either choose one from our website or choose to design your own. r mud kitchens are slightly different from other mud kitchen companies as ours are made from reclaimed, recycled, sustainable materials even down to the kitchen sink. They are so safe and have been toy tested and are UKCA approved. They are all made for outdoor use, the timber we use is sturdy and durable, these are not Aldi mud kitchens or Argos mud kitchens, these kitchens are built to last, they are not mass produced they are hand made by Chris in his workshop using years of woodwork experience. We are very confident in the quality of our kitchens, so much so they all come with a 12 month guarantee giving you piece of mind. The mud kitchen is perfect for outdoor messy play, sit back and watch as the children forage for natural materials collecting sticks, leaves, pine cones, petals and even little bugs. They love to conjure up their own recipes encouraging all sorts of development skills using role play, chatting away whilst having fun turning their ingredients into muddy masterpieces. Our play kitchens are suitable for children aged 1 to 7 but have also been popular with the older siblings and even granny has been known to get stuck in too. We have supplied a number of homes, schools, nurseries, playschools, childminders and commercial properties i.e pub play areas and campsites, delivering and spreading the mud kitchen magic to the whole of the UK.

I am writing this with a heavy heart 😞.

We have been faced with the cost of living crisis, a major issue with our timber supply, the cost of materials and the rising costs of our workshop.

Not only has the cost of the timber gone through the roof but the quality is very poor, we don’t like to cut corners and we have always valued our company on the quality and craftsmanship of our products.

We have tried everything in our power to rectify all of our issues but we have been left with no option but to CLOSE THE BUSINESS. This is absolutely devastating for us as a small family business and it will take a long time for us to recover from it but we are equally devastated for your little ones.

I would just like to say a HUGE THANK YOU TO YOU ALL, we genuinely couldn’t have done this without you, your support and kindness has been very heart warming. We have loved every minute of it, seeing the little ones faces light up and all the markets and events that we have took part in.

Please keep encouraging your little ones to play outside, explore their own imagination and continue to just be them.

I wanted to start a year long CAMPAIGN so that every child at home or in school gets to have a chance to have or play with a MUD KITCHEN. Our LAST POST explains why.
In order to do this we needed to make them ACCESSIBLE for everyone, we are starting this campaign off with a SPECIAL OFFER, FOR THE WHOLE OF JULY with our ALFIE mud kitchen, instead of £245 this will be ONLY £190.

Shhhhhhh!!! Don’t tell them they are learning…

A MUD KITCHEN is so much fun for the little ones but has sooooo many LEARNING BENEFITS too, read my post to find just a handful of them.

Suitable from the age of 1 and upwards and can be KEY for developing their skills.

Great for homes, schools and nurseries, all of our kitchens are CE APPROVED making them ultra safe whilst the little ones play and learn.

Front Street Primary school enjoying their mud kitchens.
2 fun outdoor play kitchens, a handy storage box and some tree stump table and chairs.

Mud kitchen 1
2 metre mud kitchen with a selection of workstations including a 4 ring hob with k***s, stainless steel bowls which are great for mixing and stirring or playing with water.
4 fully enclosed cupboards which make great pretend ovens and weatherproof storage at the end of play. It also features a prep area in the middle, hooks and a shelf.

Mud Kitchen 2
2 metre mud kitchen with a recycled kitchen sink which has a hose pipe connection for real running water, it also features a selection of workstations and cupboards.

We had to design a solution to keep the compost but something the kids were able to access. We created a potting bench with cupboards underneath then drawers were added to fit the bags of compost in. The children had extra play space on the bench,
the cupboards could be accessed easily and the compost was neatly stored away.

Chris donned his lumberjack gear and created a couple of brilliant sets of tree stump table and chairs so the children could play cafes.

We’ve had some great feedback from the children, they absolutely love it.

We love the idea of the 2 tiered design to suit the two little girls, we have included a compact KITCHEN SINK, HOB, MIXING BOWL, CUPBOARDS AND A PERSONALISED PLAQUE.

The soft and bright pinks work so well together and really compliment the play area in the garden.

This is the final drawing for our CELEBRITY mud kitchen.

The size was decided once we knew where the mud kitchen was going in the garden, because she has 2 girls of different ages (CLUE), she wanted a two tier kitchen to accommodate both of the children and their different heights.

We drew up a design (slide along to see) and baby pink was the chosen colour with a bright pink personalised plaque. We suggested having other bits and pieces bright pink too to compliment it I.e the cupboard doors and the shelf.

Once the final design was approved we got to work on creating the frame (slide along to see) and kept in contact with the client through out the build suggesting other ideas.

Our DESIGN SERVICE is super easy and because the mud kitchen is such an important purchase it seems logical to get it right for your own specific requirements.

Wow!!!!! I am still in shock and still a little lost for words.

We got an email from a very well known CELEBRITY asking us to create their dream mud kitchen.

After gathering myself together I got to work designing the perfect bespoke kitchen. I had some specification to work with for example colour, size and workstations.

A little trip to Hull today to deliver a mud kitchen in time for the little girls birthday, we waited until she went to school so she had a lovely surprise when she finished 🎉🥳🎂🎁🎈

This is our Ivy mud kitchen, we added more hooks for towels on the side and a basket in the shelf.
