🦄✨ Sensory rooms – the unicorn of primary schools? ✨🦄

Some schools are lucky enough to have a fancy, all-singing, all-dancing sensory room, complete with bubble tubes, fibre optics, and a price tag that makes your budget cry. But let’s be real—how often do they actually solve sensory needs? 🤔

More often than not, there’s a queue of dysregulated children waiting their turn for calm, while others are left struggling in the classroom. And let’s not even talk about the smart child who’s cracked the system: tip a table, get a golden ticket to the sensory room. 🎟️

Here’s the thing—you don’t need a sensory room to support regulation. What if, instead, we had multiple calming spaces across the school, simple sensory tools, and structured strategies woven into the day? Sounds dreamy, right? 😍

As a Sensory Occupational Therapist, I'm diving into the world of fidgets for my next blog post, where I'll be rating them out of 10 for their effectiveness and sharing tips on how to use them properly. But first, I want to hear from YOU!
