It was the annual textile fair in Manchester yesterday The Textile Society (UK) and it was a great one 😊.

The organisation was flawless 👏🏻, like a well oiled machine-well done staff!

Thank you to our regular customers who dropped by, it’s always tricky to know what to take, but the selection was well received. Emma Binns thought you’d enjoy it ☺️. Always a pleasure to meet my Southport ladies Susan Hayward & Julia Jones absolute legends!

I spent all the profits on stock 😂, Tic French linens were absolutely gorgeous! We’re doing our best to come up with an excuse for a road trip to Caen 🤔.

Fellow traders Vintage Clothing & Accessories it was lovely to be opposite such an amazing stall 👏🏻, York is definitely on for next year I think.

Hello to all our new followers, thank you for following 😊. If you’d like anything in particular please get in touch. I have a huge and varied selection. The Victorian stock is slowly being built back up again which will be on display at Whitby Goth later on this year.

It’s the annual Textile Fair in Manchester this Sunday The Textile Society (UK) . The van’s fully loaded, team Sunday Best Vintage will be in attendance!

If you haven’t been before, here’s a picture overview of the stalls and what to expect.

If you’re interested in fabrics, textiles, haberdashery and everything vintage come along in and have look. It really is the highlight of the year and an honour to trade at. Anyone who’s anyone will be there ☺️. The level of knowledge between the stallholders is mind blowing, all experts in what they do 👌🏻.

Also coming along on Sunday to are these gorgeous antique French raw linen calico smocks.

They’re perfect as a slightly heavier summer dress, a working smock for the artist studio, in the garden or for general wear. Simple tailoring but perfect in every way, and they wash & iron really well 👌🏻. Various sizes. Beautiful!

A couple more early Laura Ashley dresses being brought out of hibernation ready for fair on Sunday in Manchester.

On the left, a rare early 1960’s print Welsh dress. This was from the very start of her career. Full length in purple needle cord, size Medium 💜.

Secondly, a gorgeous 1980’s Swiss dot puff sleeve wedding dress, size 10. This has often been admired at previous events ☺️. If you’re planning a special day at some point, this really is a vintage stunner.

Both will be for sale on my stall this Sunday (not online sorry).

This Sunday 14th June it’s the annual pilgrimage to the textile fair in Manchester

I’m just unloading the van from the weekend, and re-loading with all my vintage garments.

First to be loaded are these magnificent early Laura Ashley 1970’s Welsh made dresses, aren’t they beautiful! ☺️

Firstly, a rare white cotton wedding dress. Pintuck bodice with crochet inserts, balloon sleeves & pinafore panels to front & back. Size Medium.

Secondly the legendary cotton prairie dress with floral pattern throughout. Size Small.

Both will be for sale on my stall (not online sorry). I’ll be posting a few pics this week as I’m loading on to the van. I’ve been saving some absolute beauties over the past 18 months just for this event 💜.

I’m always picking bits up, it’s rubbish to most people, it’s gorgeous old engineering to me 🧡.

All these beauties will be for sale on my stall at Morecambe Steampunk next weekend. Old gauges, giant keys, camera lenses, rusty cogs-ideal for any Steampunk creation. Upcycling a bag, a curio for a top hat, the possibilities are endless ⚙️.

Whilst at Whitby Goth weekend a few weeks back, Gareth from Signal Stitch dropped by the stall for an impromptu interview. Signal Stitch is a podcast dedicated to the fashion industry bringing together designers, retailers, educators and industry experts.

It kind of took me off guard really 😬, but I’m always a huge supporter of vintage/sustainable fashion. In particular the ongoing effect on the environment and how it has to change.
