We love Claire Hubbard’s beautiful ceramics. Her beautiful glazes light up a table or home instantly. Match stick pots and cocktail stick containers just jolly up any setting. I think they are darling. And no two the same.

Chestfield Walk is a scenic circular countryside route that explores the landscapes around one of Kent’s oldest villages. Covering 3.8 miles (6.12 km), the walk takes you through open farmland, quiet rural paths and pockets of woodland, offering a peaceful and varied outdoor experience.

Along the way, you’ll pass a number of historic buildings, including ancient houses formed from the old tithe barn and embellished with church materials. One of the standout features is a magnificent stone rose window, giving a fascinating glimpse into the area’s rich heritage.

Why not round off your walk with a visit to The Chestfield Barn, a characterful pub near the start and finish, perfect for a post-walk drink or bite to eat.

Nila Rubia in the house

My dear friend Marilyn has impeccable taste and style and immense talents. Too many to count or name.

These are well known facts.

For years she had been a fan of Nila Rubia’s dresses and has bought several from me over the decades that I have stocked them.
Here in full testament to Nila’s talent and skill and Marilyn’s good taste and delight, her display of her collection over many years. Each one still wearable and beautiful because of the way they are made - with care and skill.
We counted that one was missing so there’s actually one more frock to add to this flock that you can’t see.
Don’t you love when quality and style stand the test of time?

You know you are doing something right when customers return to your shop time and again. I am so grateful to all who do and who enjoy my curation of clothing and other items and accessories. Here Petra wears Nila Rubia’s panel dress. Cut in 20 panels Nila’s work and designs employ time old skills of block printing and colour. The cotton is the finest voile and perfect for summer days. She teams it with ones of our Shared Earth upcycled silk kantha stoles for an evening out. Perfect in every way. Conscious clothing and style.
