Hey 👋🏻 from me and my babe! I’m really enjoying my maternity leave with this little guy, he’s delicious and I’m so blessed to have time with him. I’ve been meaning to share a shop update for a long time and I keep putting it off because it hard... but here’s the news: I’m going to shut up shop. Little N and the LION will be closing down. It’s definitely the right thing for me to do in this season of mothering my four babies, leading a church site with my husband, helping with our toddler group and teaching one day a week. I have many strings to my bow and I want to give them all my best, particularly motherhood- because they won’t be small forever. The amount of hours I have to give to Little N and the LION to make it work is just too many for me, I end up burning myself out. I’m going to keep my insta space open for sharing my motherhood journey and creative endeavours, so do keep following me over there for that! Also... EYES PEELED 👀 for a mega closing down sale! 📣📣
⚡️Massive shout out to all the incredible parents out there who are smashing running a small business around their kids, it is NOT easy and I’m SO proud of all the small biz mums I have met through this app, the relationships I’ve formed are precious to me and the support shared is incredible!⚡️

WORK IN PROGRESS — our bathroom is a definite work in progress when it comes to the products we’re buying. We’ve been using refills or bars for well over a year now. But still using up various bottles that we’ve got too. A few great things pictured here:
toilet paper made from recycled paper
The shampoo bar is the best shampoo bar we’ve tried. It lathers really well and smells amazing! My husband likes their conditioner bar, but I’m not finding it detangling my hair enough so I think I’ll go back to using refill conditioner from one of our local refill shops ( )
We’ve recently started using bars for the kids and loving them so far!
I’ve swapped over some of my skincare products to organic products, from via !
I have been using toothpaste tablets from which I got on well with, but my dentist has given me a higher fluoride toothpaste which comes in little plastic tubes. So that feels like a bit of a step backwards on the plastic front. But got to get the balance of environment vs good teeth in the long term! So as you can see our bathroom is a work in progress! My goal is that our bath shelf will soon be free from plastic!
What’s your work in progress? Are there products you’re loving? Do you too have lots of bottles of random things to use up?!

MY REASON WHY — I remember as a kid being embarrassed and cross that my mum (I love you mum!) made us reuse our plastic sandwich bags, when my friend’s mum let her throw hers away. Silly right! But as a child we weren’t educated about plastic, or the planet or the impact we had. Everything was bought to be disposable: Sandwich bags, cups and plates for a party, disposable table cloths, balloons, McDonald’s toys, plastic straws and bottles, cling film, DISPOSABLE CAMERAS (can you believe it?!), everything was plastic, everything was “convenient” and we thought nothing of it. Going with my friends to town on the bus and buying new cheap clothes “just because”, with no care for who made them, how the fabric was produced or what I would do with them when I didn’t like them any more. I grew up thinking that if I put something in the bin, it was gone forever. Not 30 years of my life later it still sitting in landfill somewhere. Now we know differently, we know the impact that our “convenience” has on our planet. This one planet that we are here to steward, for the years to come, for our children and our children’s children— That’s my reason for trying to make changes, educating them on being good stewards of the planet too! .
Disclaimer: it wasn’t all bad- I remember having a special magnet to check if a can was aluminium to recycle cans, I remember taking glass to the bottle bank, and we did have a milkman for a while, with glass bottles 👌🏻 and my brilliant mum (of the generation before where things weren’t disposable!) made us reuse things over and over!! 🙌🏻

It’s nearly been a month since I last posted. I took a couple of weeks off Instagram over the Easter holidays, to help me be more present with the kids. Which was great! It was insane how much of an auto pilot I was on, pick up my phone, click on Instagram. Time away then leaves you wondering how to fit back in, what to post, what to say that is adding anything of value to this already full and busy world. How to balance motherhood, laundry, adulting, parenting, life, exercise, all the plates... and a business, and social media. So I’m not here with anything profound. Just another mama juggling all the things, yet still pursuing time for rest. Tonight I will finish a romper for this gorgeous guy that I started weeeeeeks ago, and maybe do a bit of a stitch kit that I’ve got! This crazy dribbler is having a good go at getting this teether into his mouth whilst having adorable cuddles yesterday with his big sis. 💛 (message me if you need any dribble bibs or teethers AD: own business)

Lockdown 3.0 Things I Want to Remember:
1. Some days were really, really hard.
2. That the frost, ice and snow brought the kids a lot of joy.
3. Being in a support bubble with the grandparents and being able to spend a lot of our week with them.
4. Jonah’s first few months in the world, snuggles and smiles!
5. Our incredible church and friends bringing us meals for 5 weeks to help me out. So, so incredibly blessed by all these amazing people.
6. Not having to go out in the evening but enjoying sofa snuggles with the baby, boxsets and cross stitch!
7. Some glorious walks with the fam, carrying Jonah in the sling!
8. The kids absolutely loving their “secret skate park” (a piece of land that has some dips!) and running around playing imaginary games.
9. Having lunch together every day, chatting about silly things and the kids laughing at toilet humour.
10. Learning to look for the good in amongst the hard.
11. Meeting two mums REALLY close by with tiny babies too!
