📚Sharing books is a great way to teach signs! You don’t need to sign every word – just the ones you know and want to focus on. Point out and sign things in the pictures, like animals or trees, especially what your baby is interested in.👶

👩‍🌾 Recap week! 🛌

We will be revisiting our last two themes of 'Bedtime' and 'In the Garden'. Read on to find out what's in store this week...

🐭 Finger puppets! If you've been attending for a while, you will have seen quite a variety of these! I get them from a company called Little Fingy.

🎶 Singing! If we're up for a challenge, we might have a bit of harmonising fun with one of our songs this week.

🦆 Moving! We're going to waddle, swim and hop our way through the walkabout songs.

📖 Storytime. After all the action, we're going to share a calming story together.

🏃🏻‍♀️ Having been away during half term and returning to some VERY clever babies, I'm struggling to keep up with all the signing achievements recently! Here are two fabulous signers that we celebrated this week...

🤱🏻 Ezra's first sign was *Mummy* at just 5 MONTHS OLD! He even communicated to me during class that he was looking at his *Mummy* - I was chatting to him at the end of class one day, and he looked at me, then looked at his Mummy, and signed, *Mummy*! Amazing, Ezra, *well done!* He has also since then signed *Daddy* AND been waving and clapping, brilliant!

🐘 Aurelia reached 50 SIGNS less than two months ago but has since started using ANOTHER 20 SIGNS! Aurelia is so good at mirroring signs and words that she did every single sign, including ones she has not used before like *Scarecrow*, throughout three verses of Di**le Dangle Scarecrow during class this week. Absolutely incredible, Aurelia , *well done!*

This week in class we did the "baby bingo" activity, where we showed the babies some images of animals and chatted to the babies about them. Here are some tips for this activity, which can also be applied to sharing books with your baby.

The time we have for this activity during class is limited, but you can take these ideas to use at home.

😴 Sleeping baby? If your baby's sleeping during class, you can still gently chat to them during this activity. Their brains are still soaking up the comforting sound and rhythm of mum's voice, AND, chatting to your baby during daytime naps (in contrast to keeping night times nice and quiet) helps them to differentiate between night and day.

The best thing to do during this activity in class is use it as an opportunity to bond with your baby and, most importantly, enjoy it!

🧸 Interactive songs, using fun props, with a focus on baby and parent/carer bonding.

🟣 Baby bingo! A language development activity. For the younger babies, we will be pointing at pictures of animals, saying the words, doing the signs, and making the sounds! Did you know, babies are developing their understanding of language from birth? Toddlers in the class may want to have a go at pointing at the animals.

😉 We'll be singing my 'all time favourite'. If you've been attending for half a term or more, you probably know what this song is by now. All I can say is... have fun practicing!**

**Just kidding! TinyTalk is a NO PRESSURE class, you do not have to practice if you don't want to.
