Keys of the shop handed back this morning after 2 weeks of clearing and cleaning🧹 🧽🧼

Not all been bad over the last 24 years but since Covid and The Financial Crisis things have not been what they should be and over the last few years Wymondham has not been the Town I first started my business in.
Footfall has decreased and there are not enough independent retailers in the Town and too many charity shops and empty shops in prime positions.
I fear worse to come.

Nobody in authority listens or indeed does anything to help the shopkeepers and I know without a shadow of a doubt I have got out at the right time.

In my opinion the next nail in the coffin will be when the inevitable happens and the Town gets pedestrianised 😬

I wish all of my fellow retailers all the best but it’s no longer for me and although I officially closed the shop 2 weeks ago today was the finality & closure I needed.

Thank you once again to my landlord, lovely customers and staff, friends & family who have helped and supported me over the years.

I was going to say thank you to Wymondham Town Council, Mayor & Councillors for popping in to say bye & thanks for my 24 years of input into the Town but what a surprise they didn’t !
Says it all 😂🤣

Well what can I say what a week!

The door has just been locked for trading at Wardrobes for the last time 😁

Thanks to each and everyone of you who have taken the time to pop in and say goodbye, and for the messages, cards, chocolates, flowers and gifts 🥰

Thank you to all of my customers over the years for your loyalty & support and to everybody who has helped me in
various ways over the years.

Even in what has been some financially difficult months recently for everyone, my regulars have kept me ticking over whilst the footfall in the Town has continued to decline on a daily basis.

Some exciting news for Wardrobes customers you will now be able to pop in to The Marmalade Tree in Wymondham who will be stocking clothes from some of the suppliers that I bought from.
Please give them your support, they are located just a few doors up from Wardrobes opposite the Market Cross.

Well today is my last day as a ‘Boutique
Owner’

After 24 years I will be locking the doors on my business which has done me proud until the recent events of Covid, War, Financial crisis and total lack of footfall and support from what used to be the lovely thriving busy Town of Wymondham.

I won’t say I am not sad but I am more relieved and so excited about the future and the next stage in my life.

Thank you to all my loyal customers, many of you who have become firm friends and I look forward to meeting up for coffee and a chat in a cafe rather than in Wardrobes ☕️

Thanks to Jean, Mags, Maria & Tina who have helped me through some tough times recently 🥰
