A week today I’ll be setting up at Bramham International Horse Trials, and I’m still creating new pieces.

This is nothing new.

I’ve been sewing right up to the finish line since I started my fashion career in 1988.

Every year I tell myself I’ll be more organised. That I’ll have everything finished early, be completely prepared, and avoid those last-minute days in the studio.

Yet somehow, here I am again. 😄

After all these years, I think I’ve finally accepted that this is simply part of who I am. I love the creative process and I love seeing an idea become a finished garment.

So whilst some people are counting down the days, I’m still at the sewing machine bringing the final pieces to life.

Pictured here is a sneak peek of my latest creation, The Waterfall coat, fresh off the machine and almost ready for Bramham.

Sometimes being a fashion designer means working right up to the deadline.

And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way ❤️

Two pieces. Three looks.

One of my favourite things in fashion is when two pieces work hard enough to create multiple looks.

Shirt + Skirt = Dress ❤️

Two separate pieces brought together to create a third look.

I love creating modern, chic yet super versatile designs that are easy to style.

It makes getting dressed so much easier, and far more fun.

Sleeves or no sleeves? That is the question 🙋‍♀️

I’ve been developing a short-sleeved version of my Monaco Linens shirt…and honestly, this sleeve took three attempts to get right.

The first was too long.
The second too boring.
But this one finally feels balanced.

The outer box pleating and satin bias binding hem gives it a unique modern edge to a classic shirt style.

And for me to get the best design, I have to work 3D.

Trying garments on. Pinning. Walking around the mannequin, looking at all angles.

Trusting instinct. Making changes. Then changing them again.

Until it’s right.

Sometimes the smallest details take the longest to perfect.

But it’s worth it ☺️
