We did it!

Last night, EmAble was named New Starter Business of the Year at the Yorkshire Choice Awards.

To receive this recognition is incredibly special, particularly at such an important stage in our journey as we prepare to launch our first collection.

What began as a response to our family's experience supporting Emily through cancer treatment has grown into something far bigger than we could ever have imagined. This award belongs to everyone who has believed in our mission and supported us along the way.

Thank you to everyone who voted for us, followed our journey, shared our story, offered advice, modelled for us, partnered with us, and encouraged us when we needed it most.

Most importantly, thank you to Emily. Her story remains at the heart of everything we do, and this achievement wouldn't exist without the inspiration she continues to provide.

We're incredibly proud of this moment, but we're even more excited for what comes next. 💙

Tonight's the night! 💙

This evening, we'll be attending the Yorkshire Choice Awards as finalists for New Starter Business of the Year.

Whatever happens, we're already incredibly proud. To be recognised alongside so many inspiring businesses from across Yorkshire is an honour, and a reminder of just how far EmAble has come.

What started as a response to our family's experience supporting Emily through cancer treatment has grown into something we could only have dreamed of a few years ago.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, voted for us, followed our journey, and believed in our mission.

One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been seeing the next generation of designers bring fresh ideas to adaptive fashion.

Over the past few months, we've had the privilege of working with fashion students at York College, challenging them to design adaptable shirtdresses that put the wearer's needs, comfort, and dignity first.

The creativity, thoughtfulness, and innovation they've shown have been incredible. It's been inspiring to hear their stories, understand their design processes, and see just how far adaptable clothing can go when talented people are encouraged to think differently.

We're also honoured that this collaboration has been featured by the BBC, helping shine a light on the importance and potential of adaptive fashion.

A huge thank you to the BBC, Emily Johnson, Lynn Wood, Dave Flett, York College, and most importantly the students whose passion and talent made this project so special. We feel incredibly fortunate to have been part of it and can't wait to see where their careers take them.

Families play such an important role, offering care, reassurance, and strength through moments that can feel overwhelming.

Our mission has always been to make that experience a little better—to create clothing that brings comfort, dignity, and ease, not only for the wearer, but for the families and loved ones supporting them.

On International Nurses Day, we want to say thank you.

For your care, your patience, your resilience—and for the countless moments that go unseen but mean everything to the people you support.

Nurses are there through some of life’s most difficult experiences, bringing not just skill, but kindness and reassurance when it’s needed most.

At EmAble, we design our clothing to make those moments just a little easier—not only for the wearer, but for the nurses and healthcare professionals who provide that care.
