Glorious Whitsun weather here in St Davids and a great time to explore the city & the surrounding countryside. The cliffs are carpeted with flowers this time of year. These were snapped on the path between Whitesands beach and St Davids Head

It's worth keeping your eyes open when you're on the beach, as a hidden gem might just reveal itself! Here are some fossilised ripples in the sand - a moment in time captured many millions of years ago and revealed by the low sun

One of the beauties of the Pembrokeshire coast in Springtime is the amazing carpets of wildflowers that adorn the grassy banks of the cliff edges. The vivid pink of the thrift, the reds & whites of campion, the bright yellow celandines and the yellow/white of the ox eye daisies mix together to give a riot of colour. However, on a walk near Carn Penberi yesterday evening we came across a carpet of primroses too!

Not perhaps the most inspiring photo but this is the well that gives Quickwell Hill in St Davids its name. The Welsh name is Ffynnon y Cwcwll, which means hooded, or covered, well. When the houses in the Cathedral Close were first supplied with piped water (rather than drawing it from a well) this was the source apparently.
